My whole experience of visiting Geongbokgung Palace was the beauty of fall leaves and then women from all around the world flaunting their beautiful hanboks clicking pictures all around the palace premises. Disappointed that I did not get a chance to watch the change of guards as our guide did not add it to the itinerary. The palace is beautiful and every nook and corner has its own beauty.

Amazing place definitely must visit in Seoul. Just make sure to come not too late. They close entrance already at 4pm and the area is huge! Get ready for lot of walking if you like exploring! I recommend to visit the cultural village nearby as well.

A big palace to visit. Inside, you will likely spend an hour to two to really complete everything. Plenty of nice scenic spots and Korean architecture for that photo moment, especially further away from the main gate, where it is less crowded.

Beautiful historical palace right in the heart of Seoul, accessible by train. Get the Seoul Discover Pass and experience wearing a traditional hanbok too. Weather permitting, we got to enjoy a beautiful sunny day despite the cold weather.

Gyeongbokgung Palace - Seoul, Korea This is a must visit place if you admire world history! They do offer two family museums, as well, nearby. Special thanks to my childhood friend, Caleb for meeting me halfway around the world and sharing this memory with me. As you walk around, you can imagine being transformed into the time of royalty and those around them. The architecture is so unique and beautiful. The craftsmanship is very detailed on the buildings. The ground beneath your feet is either sand or old white stone. “The buildings that remain now were rebuilt in 1888 after fire broke out and destroyed the original buildings.” One of my personal favorite rooms you can look from the outside in is a tea room. It made me imagine. In the midst of everything going around them during that time, they stayed true to their traditions and stopped to enjoy a good cup of hot tea. I highly encourage you to visit this 630-Year-Old Palace next time you’re in Seoul. It’s not far from downtown. You can dress up in their ancient attire just like I saw some guests do. They have plenty of other things to do. They offer several family fun museums, as well.
