Good to visit but if you are planning to go to Diamond Beach, I would skip it. The beach there is also back sand.

Beautiful, but stay alert, it can also trick you and be dangerous, especially towards children.

Highly recommend visiting this stunning beach, but be sure to read the warning signs at the entrance. Sneaker waves are real and can be dangerous — stay alert and enjoy safely!

This is a place you do not want to miss when you travel in Iceland. Not only because of that the black sand beach is special, but also the basalt rocks on the beach and black rocks inside the water are very spectacular. The wind was very strong on that day, bringing high waves to the beach, hitting the rocks and splashing around. See the pictures I took for the beautiful rocks.

Reynisfjara – Iceland’s Iconic Black Sand Beach Reynisfjara, located near the village of Vík on Iceland’s south coast, is one of the country’s most famous and dramatic beaches. What sets it apart is its jet-black volcanic sand, formed from eroded lava, and its stunning natural features—including towering basalt columns, sea stacks, and powerful Atlantic waves. The beach’s most iconic formations are the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, which rise out of the ocean just offshore. Local legend says they were once trolls turned to stone. The nearby Hálsanefshellir cave, framed by geometric basalt columns, looks like nature’s own cathedral and offers a unique photo opportunity. While the scenery is unforgettable, visitors must be cautious. The waves here are notoriously strong and unpredictable—known as "sneaker waves"—and can sweep people into the sea with little warning. Warning signs and designated viewing areas help keep tourists safe. Reynisfjara is a year-round destination, whether under the midnight sun or the winter aurora. Its raw beauty, moody atmosphere, and geological wonder make it a must-visit for anyone exploring Iceland’s south coast.

the black sand beach is very beautiful, the sea there is more wild with higher waves. the view from the rocks by the natural pool was also really nice, but the pool itself is full of dead fish
