The fortress walls offer stunning views of Split. The fortress itself is rich in history, with many hidden corners and interesting spots, photogenic and unshakable. You can get there by city bus; it stops right under the fortress walls. The fortress is especially popular among fans of the TV series "Game of Thrones" (episodes were filmed there, and there's now a separate room with stills from the film, in which the fortress is easily recognizable). I haven't seen the series, but my visit to the fortress didn't disappoint.

What a stunning view as we rode up to the castle on our motorcycle! It’s a pity you can’t really stop to take pictures on the way up, but some experiences are best enjoyed in the moment anyway. From a distance, the castle looks even more impressive than from inside — though the view from the top is absolutely worth it.

A good place to visit to know about Dalmatian history. Fortress is not that much big but attractive, though renovation work is still on progress. View of Spilt sm as well as the sunset is really amazing.

One of our highlights from staying in Split. A very welcome escape from the chaos of the city and the visit to the nearby olive museum makes it even better value. The views are brilliant and the history of the fortress is fascinating. Even cooler that you get to say you’ve visited the fortress of Meereen from GoT!

Lovely sprawling castle parts dating back over 2000 years. Was used for Game Of Thrones too which as a fan was a nice surprise. Easy to get around but does have some slippery surfaces so those with difficulties walking be aware. Amazing views.
