Experience the vast beauty and unique culture of Tunisia on a journey through the Tataouine region. Begin with a stroll through the bustling souk in the city center, where vibrant stalls and local craftsmanship reveal the daily life of the inhabitants. Continue to Chenini, a historic Berber village in ruins, and explore other Berber villages along the way, including visits to ancient ksours that showcase the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. Travel onwards to Ksar Ghilane, a site known for its Roman fort ruins and hot thermal springs, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath surrounded by the serene desert landscape. As night falls, settle into the Zmela camp and experience the unparalleled silence of the Tunisian desert, sleeping in a tent far from city lights beneath a sky full of stars.
Discover more of Tunisia’s history and cinematic charm the next day with a visit to the troglodyte villages of Matmata. Explore the unique architecture of the underground homes and walk through filming locations from the iconic Star Wars saga. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local home, tasting authentic cuisine prepared with regional ingredients and techniques. Continue to Sidi Idriss, another famous Star Wars filming site, to connect the cultural and cinematic history of the region. This immersive experience offers a perfect combination of natural beauty, cultural discovery, and adventure, allowing you to understand the lives of local inhabitants while enjoying the desert’s tranquility. Sandra

We did a private tour with Grand Sahara Adventures with an overnight in the desert and it was the best experience. We had the best fun and were able to immerse ourselves in the culture. Our tour guide Ftouma and our driver Ali were the best! I highly recommend them for your trip.

We (4 adults + 2 children) booked a Sahara day trip and camel ride back in May, and it was absolutely incredible! A massive thank you to our amazing guide Abbes and our wonderful driver Belgassem for making the whole experience unforgettable. Abbes was hands down the best guide we could have asked for - so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. He made us feel completely safe and kept us engaged and interested at every stop along the way. He even took us to a fantastic local food stop, which was such a highlight. This day trip wouldn’t have been the same without him. We couldn’t recommend this experience (and this driver!) highly enough. Thank you!
Yas

Great trip with friends, knowledgeable, kind & passionate guide Ftouma and driver. We drove through nicely preserved Berber villages, absorbed beautiful landscape, met kind people on the way and had very tasty local food. The overall vibe was wonderful however we wish our itinerary allowed (1) more time to enjoy certain places like the dunes at the camp prior to leaving, and; (2) skip breakfast at the camp to allow space for the heavenly shakshouka at the Berber house visit and the couscous lunch at a Berber family in Temerzet. Last but not least, the GSA agent Anouar went above and beyond to attend to our needs prior to the trip. I highly recommend traveling with GSA Tour for memorable South of Tunisia trip.

I had an fun experience on the Star Wars tour from Djerba. Our guide, Ftuma, was fantastic—her passion really brought the tour to life. She was not only knowledgeable but also caring and attentive, making sure everyone was having a great time. Our driver, Hafed, was excellent as well. He drove safely and was very friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment of the trip.
KADESHA

My husband and I just returned from a 4 day excursion with GSA! 100% would recommend for ease of planning & seeing all the best sites in the south✨ Our tour guide, Dalel, spoke superb English and really kept us engaged. She’s easy and fun to get along with. Our driver, Anwar was also pleasant & had good command of the road. Camping in the Sahara and quad biking was a highlight for us!! Cons: please stop using Ksar Rouge hotel in Tozeur, it’s far from a 4 star hotel and the food was awful and service very slow. We could not eat it. Also the lunch stop in Douz was not good either…a very poor representation of Tunisian cuisine. I beg you all to update this.
