Experience the full beauty and excitement of a four-day canoeing adventure along the majestic River Wye. On day one, your journey begins in the scenic village of Glasbury, where you launch and navigate through the famous town of books, Hay-on-Wye. Enjoy a relaxing lunch break before continuing through the picturesque English countryside, concluding at Whitney-on-Wye. Rest and rejuvenate at the charming riverside pub, The Boat Inn, while soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Day two takes you deeper into the enchanting Herefordshire countryside, paddling past lush orchards to the charming village of Bredwardine, known for its peaceful swimming spot. The day ends at the idyllic Byecross Farm Campsite in Preston-on-Wye, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures.
Discover the thrill of days three and four as you continue your river journey. Day three challenges you with an eleven-mile stretch leading into historic Hereford city, where the river slows, allowing you to appreciate the scenic beauty along the way. Overnight camping is available at Hereford Rowing Club, providing a comfortable rest before the final day. On day four, paddle sixteen miles downstream from Hereford to Hoarwithy, passing the village of Holme Lacey, famous for its cider-apple and perry-pear orchards. The adventure concludes at Tresseck Campsite, where we arrange pickup and return to Glasbury. This four-day experience offers a perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and immersion in nature, leaving participants with lasting memories of the River Wye and the picturesque Herefordshire landscape.
