The pollock holes are a challenge for first timers. Firstly its a big hole cut out of the rocks by years of evolution and fills with crystal clear cold Atlantic sea water every 6 hours and therefore no pollution . Try it sometime its freezing but refreshing some say its 20 foot deep but let's say its difficult to touch the bottom of it. It's a kilkee favourite for years.
Great spot for a swim when the weather's right. Water is cold, but crystal clear and swimming in the pools with the sea life all around is a great experience.
A fascinating spot where you can walk with good hiking shoes at low tide far into the bay. It is a well known spot for the locals to take a bath in the pollock holes. But I am far more in the amacing scenery of the bay.
