Its great heritage that we all should be aware of. One is n awe after seeing all the intricate work which was done several 100 years ago, with the tech available then. Its queationable if we would achieve same outcome with beauty even with modern tools. Its also an important artifact which give some idea about how Vishnu and Shiva. One important thing is that almost every temple is dedicated to Shiva and has square design of the pindi, while we generally see round shapes now a days. You also see clear images of bhagvan Mahavir at multiple palces. Carving on the pillars is also very intricate and matcjes with those at Aihole. Good information is available in audio and text format at ASI website, scannable qr codes of the same at the entrance of every cave. However, liatening to that every time might become tricky. You may want to get a guided tour depending upon your level of interest. The tickets can booked online or directly at the entrance. Parking# While parking is available and even bigger vehicles like tempo travellers etc can reach the locations, what needs to be considered is that the roads are narrow. So most people prefer auto rides, which charges around INR 600 for the visit to Caves, Bhootnath temple and the Fort. Warning: since these are caves, you also have bats. There is a strange smell in a lot of these places. So, mask is recommended is you are sensitive to these odd smells. Also, during December you would also have a lot of school trips coming there. While this is good in one sense, these kids in hoards would impact the way you feel the caves. So try odd/weekdays.

Badami is an unforgettable experience- A place where history breathes through every rock. The cave temples are absolutely stunning and make you feel proud of our heritage. Standing there, you can truly appreciate the artistry of our ancestors. The sandstone cliffs glow beautifully during sunrise and sunset. Agastya Lake adds a calm and spiritual charm to the entire site. Walking through the ancient pathways feels like travelling back in time. The stories carved on the walls remind us of our rich culture. But at the same time, it makes us feel ashamed for not preserving many other monuments across the country. Some surrounding areas clearly need better maintenance and protection. Badami shows what is possible when history is respected. It also highlights how much we have already lost due to neglect. A visit here inspires both pride and reflection. Everyone should experience Badami at least once. It’s a reminder of what we must preserve for future generations.
