My husband and I were visiting Ireland and on our last day we stopped at "Hope Beer" to try to do a bit of last minute tourism and gift buying. We didn't know that they do not have a store front, and that you can only check out the brewery with a scheduled tour. However, we saw a gentleman packing a van with kegs and boxes of beer and asked him if he knew where we could maybe buy some of their beer, or if we could maybe look around the place a bit before our flight. He said he was really sorry but they don't sell retail and you can only see the place if you're doing a tour. BUT then he told us to hold on, went into the warehouse and came back out with a set of assorted beers....for no charge! He wouldn't take payment for the beers, but said if we wanted to, we could donate to a charity Hope Beer supports...which we gladly did. Now we know they obviously can't just give away beer to every person who walks by. So this was clearly a simple act of kindness, and it made our last day in Ireland the absolute best. We are so grateful...Thanks so much Des! Needless to say, we have a new favorite brewery! If you are in the area, please check them out. The beers are really very good, but their kindness makes this company wonderful and worth supporting. P.S. It turns out the kind, unassuming gentleman packing the van (Des) is actually one of the founders and owners of the company :)

Probably one of the best brewery tours I've been to and I've been to many... Thanks to Richard's great presentation, patience in answering questions and all the beers we got to try, this evening was a success! Strongly recommended.

Great tour, really interesting to get an insight into how the a new business like Hope comes about. The brews they have are fantastic too. The fact that the brewery is next to the stations means you can leave the car at home and enjoy the beer tasting

Great brewery tour in north Dublin. The guide was one of owners and he talked a lot about the industry, the brewery, production and distribution. They really talk about beer with passion and was totally worth the trip to Howth.

We did the tour which was not just informative but also fun. We tasted 5 beers and listened to the stories behind each of the beer labels. I personally liked every single beer. I recommend to visit this brewery.
