Díon has sailed in as the premiere “wow factor” restaurant in Dublin. It’s a beautiful space, great city views & warm welcome. The menu is well varied to suit pretty much all tastes. Everything we ordered was tasty, well prepared and stylishly presented. The service was very attentive and friendly. Was pleasantly surprised by the price as well! Really well priced by Dublin standards. Will definitely return when they launch their brunch menu

A Glamorous Setting with Strong Food and Some Service Inconsistencies We were greeted at ground level by staff who took our coats and escorted us to the lift. The restaurant spans two floors, with a bar on the 9th floor and another bar plus the main dining area on the 10th. The ambience is glamorous and beautifully designed, and the rooftop views are undoubtedly among the best in Dublin. Having read mixed reviews about both the food and the service, I was curious to see what our experience would be like. We visited as a family group of five. The atmosphere is lively and busy, yet the acoustics are well managed, making conversation easy and pleasant. Service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly, though with a few areas that could be improved. We ordered a selection of starters and sharing plates: the baker’s basket, bacon and cabbage croquettes, shiitake mushrooms, calamari, and deep-fried artichoke. For mains, I chose the chicken milanese, while the rest of the table ordered the beef ribs. The waiter suggested we order sides to accompany the ribs, though they ultimately arrived with generous portions of mashed potatoes already. In addition, we ordered sides of spinach, Parmesan fries with truffle, and extra mash. The starters were excellent—well presented, nicely executed, and paired with very good sauces. One small criticism: in a restaurant of this level, a bread basket priced at €9 feels unnecessary and would be better absorbed into the cost of other items. The main courses were also beautifully presented, and everyone at the table was satisfied. My chicken milanese, however, lacked seasoning and flavour. When the maître d’ checked on us and I mentioned this, he immediately offered to replace it. I accepted and switched to the prawns, which were absolutely delicious. We ordered a bottle of Chablis—although only one of the three listed options was available. That said, the wine was excellent and well balanced. For dessert, I had the profiteroles with pistachio and chocolate sauce: very well executed and thoroughly enjoyable. A few points worth mentioning: our waiter initially poured a full serving of wine before offering it for tasting, rather than the standard small sample. Also, as it was my mother’s 70th birthday, we asked if we could move to a nearby table with better views. The waitress checked with the maître d’, who told us that section was closed—yet later in the evening, other guests were seated there. Overall, the restaurant delivers on atmosphere, views, and food quality, with mostly strong service. With a bit more consistency and attention to detail, it could truly match the high-end experience its setting promises.

Great atmosphere and beautiful view. Service was slow but friendly and kind, and since we had a stunning view from our window-side table and weren’t in any rush we honestly didn’t mind the slow service. I had the market fish of the day (a nice piece of pan seared halibut and tender prawns) and my friend had the centre cut fillet with peppercorn sauce, which we both enjoyed and were very satisfied by. The interior is large, open, and stylishly decorated. And there is a door to an outdoor walkway which provides a great way to see the city. We recommend checking it out!

Beautiful restaurant! Amazing 360 views of the city. One of a kind restaurant in Dublin!! Food was delicious, we all had different dishes, ribeye steak and fillet steak were delicious, cooked perfectly with a nice crisp on the outside. Prawns and fish and chips were great too as well as the vegan option. Portion sizes are great.

Fantastic design, excellent lighting, and a very spacious setting with impressive views over the city. The food itself was excellent and showed real promise. Unfortunately, the overall service significantly detracted from the experience. Barely a week after opening, the operation felt chaotic from the outset. As our table was not ready, we were directed to the bar. We finished our drinks, yet 30 minutes after our booking time there was still no sign of the table. Once seated, by 9pm, the restaurant had already run out of sparkling water. The starters arrived without the accompanying wine. Despite flagging this to two different members of staff, the wine eventually arrived late — a €73 Sancerre bottle served at room temperature, seriously? The wine was poured without being offered a taste, adding to the sense of disorganisation. Overall, the experience felt rushed and poorly coordinated. With such a strong setting and quality food, tighter service, better communication, and attention to basic hospitality details would make a substantial difference. The potential is clearly there — it just needs polish and consistency.
