Great experience I like how they built the museum on top of ruins, but have made it where you can see through the floor to see the ruins below the museum. Also, they’ve done a very nice job keeping the exhibit where they feel very close but keeping them still safe Building is a couple stories tall on the second story there is a Lego exhibit which I quite enjoyed and then the final floor has incredible views overlooking the city and the surrounding scenery overall, the experience was quite good. Staff was extremely friendly and kind. I was very happy to see the 6 sisters exhibit. Only five of them are there. The other one is in the British museum. If you visit the top of the hill, you will see they have Moved the real ones into the museum to keep them from getting Weather.
I visited the Acropolis Museum today and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The building itself is stunning-modern, light-filled, and thoughtfully designed to let the ancient history shine. One of the highlights was walking over the glass floors and seeing the archaeological remains beneath your feet, which immediately grounds you in the depth of Athens' history. The exhibits are beautifully curated and easy to follow, even without a guide. Seeing the original Caryatids up close was incredibly moving, and the Parthenon Gallery at the top-perfectly aligned with the Acropolis-was a real standout. The way the sculptures are displayed alongside clear explanations helps you truly understand their story and significance. It's spacious, well-organised, and never felt overwhelming. I'd highly recommend visiting before or after the Acropolis itself-it adds so much context and appreciation. A must-see in Athens.
A stunning bridge between the ancient and modern world. A must-visit in Athens... The glass floors at the entrance let you look down into ancient excavations beneath your feet. The top floor is the showstopper. It’s arranged exactly like the Parthenon and offers a panoramic view of the actual temple on the hill. Seeing the original maidens up close is breathtaking. 🎟️ Tickets: Buy them online in advance to skip the long ticket booth lines. ☕ The Cafe: The restaurant terrace has one of the best views of the Acropolis in the city. Great for a frappe or lunch. 🕒 Timing: Go Friday evening if you can—it’s open late and usually less crowded. Essential. Do the Acropolis hike first, then come here to understand what you just saw.
