Our group engaged Philemon Food Tours through our travel agent for our visit to Naxos for a cultural and food tour, as well as a vineyard and dinner at Tranampelo Vineyards in Glinado. A great experience in Naxos and different from the standard tour. We enjoyed our guide Alexia and driver Demitri very much. The food was great along with seeing what life is like for those living on the island away from the tourism. The most amazing part of the experience was simply sharing a meal with local people and connecting. We discussed everything from the history of Naxos to the difficulties we both share in pulling our kids away from technology. I can think of no better way to feel like we truly experienced the island then sitting down to dinner with those who live there. And then there was the huge bonus of discovering the dessert mosaic that I am hoping becomes a regular for our family. I highly recommend.
This tour was an amazing experience. My husband and I loved every second of it. The tour guide and driver were so accommodating. We spent some time on a local farm participating in a cooking class and enjoyed a delicious meal with the local family. We then got to experience a wonderful visit to a local vineyard, where the food and wine was delicious. If you are looking for a truly authentic experience, this is it !
