This place has aura! This is one of the most gorgeous monasteries I have ever seen in my life. It was created by David Gareji in the 6th century and he picked such a beautiful spot for this monastery. The area is surrounded by rainbow like hills and the hills make you feel as if you are on Mars. From Tbilisi if you take the shorter road from Rustavi, you will need a vehicle that can do light off roading, otherwise you should take the longer route because it actually has paved road. But if you want an adventurous experience and have a vehicle which can do light off roading, I recommend that route. Anyways this monastery was one of the highlights of my trip to Georgia. I highly recommend it!
The hike is really short, its uphill but even the most unfit person will enjoy it.
Very beautiful remote monetary that part of it is carved in the stone. There is a scenic hike up to it and than you go to see it inside. Near by there are beautiful and colorful dunes. There is a trail that you can take between them, the nature here is like magic. Also the whole region’s natural landscape is so different than other regions in Georgia , it makes the place special.
