⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing experience at Laxness Horse Farm. Kristján kindly drove us there, which was a great start to the visit. Our ride was led by Agnes and Sigrun Sandra, who were friendly, professional, and made us feel completely at ease. The horses were calm and clearly very well cared for — my horse Svaki was an absolute joy to ride. A big thank you as well to Haukur Þórarinsson for the warm hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Iceland!

This is a fantastic place for a horseback riding experience in Iceland. It’s a charming family-run business where it’s clear how much they care for their animals; the horses are calm, well-cared-for, and a joy to ride. The entire team is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. This place offers a wonderful way to connect with nature and Icelandic horses in a warm and authentic environment. I highly recommend this farm! 🐴

Friendly family run horse farm. Adorable Icelandic horses are gentle and lovely. Very suitable for leisure riding and beginner like me.

Haukur, Agnes and Katrín were wonderful guides and showed the best hospitality. The experience was majestic as we went when it was partially drizzling and saw beautiful rainbows along the trek. The horses were very well behaved and had a cute, friendly little competition for lead position in the group. Highly recommend as it was a core memory for my family.

We went to this riding stable based on reviews and feedback while we were planning our two week long trip to Iceland. It is located just outside of Reykjavik and is in very beautiful countryside. We were so impressed with the ride the first day and the Icelandic horses that on our last day of our trip, which was a free day, we decided to go back and spend the entire day at the farm. Of the four of us, one is a professional trail guide here in the states, one is a dressage rider, one is a high dollar show owner/rider, and the last (myself) is an intermediate pleasure rider. We took holiday in Iceland specifically to do equestrian outings and visit the countryside. We rode twice on our second visit, once on the 2-hour in the morning and then we had lunch at the barn which we brought, and then we rode the 2-hour again in the afternoon. I was able to ride Horsey Jesus, aka Happy Treat, twice out of the three and I SO wanted to stuff him in my suitcase and bring him home. Alas, he wouldnt fit. 😭 I also loved Yrsa, who was sure-footed, gentle, and fun. It was a nice challenge trying to get her to tolt instead of trot and I learned a lot from both horses about the tolt, how to sit it, and how to communicate what I wanted them to do. I cannot say enough good things about the family who owns it, the patriarch who serves coffee and pastries afterwards, the son who runs the business, or the crew who work there. If you want an authentic, genuine, and caring ride experience, I highly recommend this facility. They care for their horses and treat them like honored family members. It is such a different experience than you get in the States. A+++. I'd give them ten stars if I could. Please go see this family owned facility and give Horsey Jesus a scratch or two for me.

Loved seeing the Puffins, lots of time to observe then and really appreciated the additional photos from the guide

We saw lots of puffins on land and even more flying around, although if you want to see them up close I would recommend going on a small boat, but for the price it is good value for money.
Krzysztof

nice views, lots of birds, unfortunately little sun and gloomy and it's July

We booked this trip as our cruise trip to Vigor Island was cancelled. We were so glad we did as this trip was wonderful. We got close to one of the islands the puffins are nesting on so could see them next to their burrows especially using binoculars. Lots of puffins flying close to their burrows boat too. A great trip and excellent value for money.
