Ethnographic Village Experience Showcases Kazakh Traditions and Nomadic Heritage

An authentic theatrical show offers visitors an engaging introduction to the rich customs and traditions of the Kazakh people, hosted in a specially designed ethnographic village at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. The experience provides a vivid portrayal of the traditional nomadic way of life, set against a scenic natural backdrop that enhances the cultural immersion.

Guests are invited to explore the national dwelling of the Kazakhs, known as the yurt, and take part in interactive master classes that highlight traditional skills. These include cooking baursaks, a popular Kazakh pastry, as well as learning wool-related crafts such as cleaning and whipping wool, offering hands-on insight into everyday nomadic practices.

The program is further enriched by an impressive horse show and opportunities to learn about horseback riding, deepening the connection to Kazakhstan’s equestrian heritage. Visitors gain a better understanding of the historical importance of horses in nomadic culture while observing skilled performances and demonstrations.

After the activities, guests enjoy a delicious lunch featuring authentic Kazakh national dishes prepared according to traditional recipes. The experience concludes with an archery master class where participants can try shooting a bow, followed by a short horseback riding session, creating a fully immersive and unforgettable cultural journey.
