amazing place to explore if you want stunning mountains, peaceful fjords, and charming small towns. The natural scenery is breathtaking with great hiking trails and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. The local villages feel welcoming and authentic, giving you a real taste of Icelandic culture. Perfect for anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the quieter side of Iceland. A dream road for everyone looking for the beauty of the landscape, wildness, color and nature. Before you reach the lighthouse, which stands out against the background of the water and the cliff of the island, you will probably take route 76 from Sauðárkrókur and here you will fall in love with everything, and wild Icelandic horses are part of this route and you will not go quickly because the images with them will be unique.

This is one o the closest places you can go to the Artic Circle on mainland Iceland. The lighthouse is the classic orange painted building and the setting was amazing. Fantastic mountain backdrop along with the crashing waves along the rugged coast were truly delightful to see. The sunny day made it even more wonderful experience. Get off the Ring Road and take a beautiful drive on 82 to 76 through Siglufjörður and a nearly 1km long 1 lane tunnel at Strákagöng. The vistas and views are stunning.
