Taal Bhairavi Temple is a must-visit place when you are in Pokhara. The temple is located in the middle of Phewa Lake, and reaching there by boating itself is a beautiful experience. The calm water and surrounding mountains make the journey very peaceful. The temple is situated on a small island, and from here you can enjoy amazing views all around. If the sky is clear, you can even witness the stunning Annapurna range, which makes the visit even more special. The place feels spiritual, serene, and perfect for spending some quiet time away from the city rush.

Temple dedicated to Goddess Barahi is located in the middle of Phewa lake and can be accessed by boat only. There was a little queue when we got there. We spotted lots of fish on one side of the temple boundary. We paid NPR 1180 for the return trip boat ride (not sharing with others). It was a lovely boat ride to the temple (around 20mins), we made the journey around 7:00 am from Phew Lake View Point, ours was the only boat on that part of the lake at the time.
Hell

This temple is in a truly awesome location in the middle of a lake, accessible only by boat. The ride cost us 150 NPR per person and offers some mesmerizing views—perfect for anyone looking to take great photos. It’s a peaceful spot to spend some quality time, but keep in mind there are no food or water stalls available, so come prepared. My only complaint is safety: although the boat limit is 5 people, the operator overloaded it with more passengers. Aside from that, I liked the place very much!

Tal Barahi Mandir is a beautiful and unique temple located in the middle of Phewa Lake. You have to take a boat to reach the temple, which costs around 100 Nepali rupees, and prices for tourists might be different. The boat ride itself is enjoyable and offers lovely views of the lake. From here, many mountains can be seen, adding to the charm of the place. The temple has a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere, making it a nice spot for prayer as well as photography. It is a must visit place when exploring Pokhara.

Tal Barahi Mandir is truly one of the most peaceful and iconic places to visit in Pokhara. Located right in the middle of the serene Phewa Lake, the journey itself is unforgettable. To reach the temple, you can head to Lakeside Pokhara and take a small boat from the lakeshore; the ride usually takes 10–15 minutes. As you glide across the calm water with the Annapurna range reflecting on the lake, the approach to the temple feels spiritually uplifting. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Barahi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga who symbolizes power, protection, and the victory of good over evil. It is believed to have been built during the reign of King Kulmandan Shah in the early 18th century. The architecture reflects traditional pagoda-style design, and despite its small size, the temple carries a deep sense of devotion and tranquility. Visitors often light butter lamps and offer prayers wishing for peace, strength, and prosperity. According to local myths, Goddess Barahi is the protector of Pokhara Valley. Many believe that the temple’s location in the center of the lake signifies her guardianship over all directions. Legend also says that the valley was once a giant lake inhabited by serpents, and the goddess played a divine role in protecting the people when the waters receded. These stories give the temple an enchanting and mystical charm, making each visit feel connected to ancient spiritual energy. Overall, Tal Barahi Mandir is not just a religious site but a beautiful blend of nature, culture, and peaceful divinity. Whether you come to offer prayers or simply enjoy the boat ride and scenery, the experience is calming and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pokhara—this temple is a must-visit destination.
