We stayed but two nights at the beautiful hotel at the edge of the forest. We had a double room with an incredible view over the surrounding landscape and woke up to the sounds of wildlife every morning. During our stay we were well taken care of by Hemal and his wonderful family. The food was amazing (even better with the view) and every need was quickly tended to with a sincere smile! The height of our stay was the guided tour through the rainforest with Hemal. We opted for the full day tour (around 7-8 hours) and Hemal is incredibly knowledgeable about everything that moves and grows in the forest. He tells about it with great interest and great respect and it was truly a learning experience. Our highest recommendation for anyone even remotely nearby. Go stay at the hotel, eat the food (and the rare-region-only-green-king-coconut) and walk the forest. You won't regret a single minute.

Me and my husband Mukesh stayed at the homestay for two days and we can vouch these were two most memorable days of our Sri Lanka trip. We are carrying a lifelong memory for the time we spent with Hemal and his daughter. Hemal as a host is not only hospitable but very knowledgeable and understand the requirements and interests of his guests. We are amateur birdwatchers but he took us to lots of hotspot for birdwatching. If you are planning to visit Singharaja this is the place you should choose to stay for everything that you want from a home away from home.

We spent three wonderful days at Wildlife Kingdom with Hemal and his lovely family, and it was truly one of the most beautiful experiences of our entire Sri Lanka trip. Not only is the accommodation itself very charming and peaceful, but what really makes this place so special is the incredible hospitality of Hemal, his wife, and their absolutely adorable little daughter. Our biggest highlight were, without a doubt, the jungle tours with Hemal in the Sinharaja Rainforest. He knows the forest like no one else – every stone, every plant, every animal. Hemal is a walking encyclopedia with an amazing eye for the wilderness. He can identify animals and plants effortlessly, often knowing not only the Latin names but even the German ones, and he answers every question with so much knowledge and passion. Watching him gently call birds with their songs and guide us through the forest made Sinharaja feel like a truly magical, sacred place. Because of him, we were able to experience the rainforest in such a deep, respectful and beautiful way, and we are incredibly grateful for that. We loved our stay so much that we even extended it by one more night. Hemal and his wife put so much care into sharing Sri Lankan culture with us, and the food they cooked was absolutely delicious. They were always attentive, kind, and seemed to read every wish from our eyes before we even had to ask. If you are coming to Sri Lanka and want an authentic, heartfelt and unforgettable experience close to nature, this is the place to go. This will definitely not be our last visit – we already look forward to coming back and seeing them again. Highly, highly recommended from the bottom of our hearts. :)

Had an amazing tour with Hemal. Initially I had a tour booked with someone else that didn't show up in the morning. My hotel owner connected me with Hemal and he took me on an unplanned trip. He was an amazing guide and with a great eye for spotting animals. He also provided snacks and water for the trip. I got to see snakes, lizards, monkeys, giant squirrels, insects, and some birds. He also showed me some amazing wild plants. I didn't see the hotel but would highly recommend a tour with Hemal.

Wildlife Kingdom is a wonderful place to visit. Gorgeous views over the fields, hanging parrots coming into the fruit trees, and a fantastic location adjacent to the beautiful Sinharaja forest. The rooms are spacious and have wonderful balconies to relax on, cool A/C, comfy beds, quick Wi-Fi, and clean nice shower with nice decor and warm and cool water options for shower. The food is excellent and from local sources. Hemal and his family are so friendly and welcoming. Hemal is an expert on the local wildlife. He can take you on a walking tour of the park to swim in a cool river and to see many beautiful and endemic birds. He also took us on a night walk to see many wonderful creatures such as slender loris, civet, frogmouth, owls, vipers, and other nocturnal critters. I also used Hemal as a guide to work out logistics for other potions of Sri Lanka, he had a fantastic network of local guides around the country and can organize an incredible tour of the natural wonders of Sri Lanka. I highly recommend visiting Udawalawe, Yala, and Horton Plains National Parks nearby if you get the chance. Thanks to Hemal I had a wonderful trip, wonderful stays, and I saw gorgeous scenery and incredible wildlife throughout my trip.
