On Day 1, your adventure begins with a visit to Pre Rup Temple, a striking example of Khmer architecture known for its pyramid-like structure. Next, you'll head to Banteay Srei Temple, often referred to as the "Citadel of Women," which is renowned for its exquisite pink sandstone carvings, showcasing the unique Banteay Srei style. The tour continues to East Mebon Temple, a 10th-century temple built in the middle of a large reservoir, followed by Ta Som Temple, a small yet picturesque temple. Afterward, you will visit Neak Pean, a temple set on an artificial island in the middle of a baray, and Preah Khan Temple, which is still largely covered by the jungle. Along the way, you'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, giving you a chance to taste traditional Cambodian dishes. Afterward, the day ends with a stunning sunset view from Bakheng Mountain, offering a panoramic view of the Angkor archaeological park.
Day 2 begins early with the iconic sunrise at Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Built by King Suryavarman II, Angkor Wat spans 330 meters by 260 meters and features five towering spires that represent Mount Meru. It’s not just a symbol of Cambodia, but also an architectural masterpiece. After sunrise, you’ll explore Angkor Thom, the ancient walled city, beginning with the South Gate, followed by Bayon Temple, famous for its 216 stone faces of Avalokiteshvara, symbolizing the compassion of the king. You will also visit the Royal Palace site, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the Elephant Terrace, which were used for royal ceremonies and grand processions.
Your day continues with a visit to Baphuon Temple, an impressive pyramid-like structure built in the 11th century, followed by Ta Prohm Temple. Known for its appearance in the movie "Tomb Raider," Ta Prohm is famous for its overgrown trees and roots that have intertwined with the ancient stones, making it one of the most visually captivating temples in the Angkor complex. After experiencing these breathtaking sights, your tour concludes, and you’ll be transferred back to your hotel, reflecting on the grandeur and history of Cambodia's ancient temples.
