Only take this bus if you are a Japanese speaker. They are supposed to have a headset system that uses GPS markers to play commentary in English when the bus passes key landmarks. I should’ve backed out of this tour when I bought the ticket. They said they are having issues with the GPS system and that there are no refunds if it doesn’t work. They should’ve been honest and just said it doesn’t work at all, ever. Period. When you get on the bus there are instructions saying to raise your hand to let the bus conductor know if the audio system stops working. I raised my hand consistently for 45 minutes. The tour conductor saw me repeatedly and ignored me. To be clear, if NEVER worked. Total waste of 2,000 yen. Trapped on a moving prison for 80 minutes. To be avoided!

Took the 7.30pm tour for around 90-100mins around the city. It was definitely a comfortable and easy way to explore the city. Paid 2000yen and advance reservation is a must. Either do it online or physically. Took the tour in April so the weather can be a bit cold so bring along warmer clothes or jacket. Or a bottle of warm drinks. No food allowed. The only down side is the commentary is in Japanese so did not understand any of the insights or interesting facts shared. And at least 70%-80% of the people on the bus was visitors and non local thus would be good to have English commentary available. Still a good and fast way to see the city.

Booked the twilight tour in late September 2024. Thankfully, the rain stayed away for the most part. Since it's an open top bus, you're exposed to the elements. This is something important to keep in mind as the bus hurls down the highway at a fairly fast speed. It can be a bit white-knuckle trying to hold onto your phone as the wind is blowing so hard on the highway. You can buy tickets at City Hall. The bus picks you up right outside City Hall. You board in the back and the only seats are on the top level. They don't have audio commentary in English. I did use Google translate a bit too see what they were saying and I think it's enjoyable even without the audio. Highlight is probably seeing Fukuoka Tower at night. Bring a jacket in case it gets chilly at night.

I’ve chosen a night ride as it was recommended to me when buying a ticket. I was told that tour guide only speaks in Japanese, nonetheless on a bus we had tour guide speaking in Japanese and also audio through speakers translated in Korean and English as it was requested by the people on the bus. Sadly while audio played in English it would cut off half sentence and it was just not all the information. Bus didn’t stop anywhere so there is no option to get off the bus. A view was really lovely and I especially enjoyed the seaside building and view. Also with this ticket you purchase you’re able to ride local buses.( within a specific area which is shown on a map you get when you buy your ticket). All you have to do it get a ticket when you walk in to the local bus and the ticket machine is located on a left side. Then you take your bus tour ticket and a little ticket from the local bus with a number on it and show it to the driver. When getting off the bus you just keep both of the tickets. Easy peasy. I hope this helps to you while exploring Fukuoka. Enjoy ✨

Really enjoyed the open top bus tour.. Chose the Seaside momochi route. They have 3 schedules 10am, 12:30pm and 4:30pm.. Not many tourist rode during my saturday visit. Another perk of this is that you get to ride Nishetsu buses around Fukuoka for the whole day! Not bad for 1570 yen
