Start your journey by taking in the colorful and unique architectural style of Mindelo’s buildings, which showcase the island's vibrant culture. Wander through the bustling local markets, including the Fish Market, African Market, and the Municipal Market (which is closed on Sundays), where you can experience the heart of daily life in Mindelo. These lively markets are perfect spots to explore and discover local goods, crafts, and fresh produce that represent the island's diverse heritage.
As you continue your exploration, you’ll be treated to one of the best views of Mindelo, Monte Cara, and Laginha Beach from a scenic lookout point. The stunning vistas will offer a perfect opportunity for photos before heading on a scenic drive up to Monte Verde. This natural and protected park is the highest peak on São Vicente, where you’ll be able to see the island from a unique vantage point, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that truly define the beauty of the island.
The day then takes you to the small, charming seaside fishing villages scattered across the island, where you’ll be able to experience the island's more traditional and laid-back lifestyle. Afterward, you can cool off by swimming in the clear blue lagoon of Baía das Gatas, a peaceful spot known for its serene waters. Finally, take time to marvel at the contrasting long beach coastline of São Vicente, a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquil surroundings.
Wear your bathing suit for a swim at Baia das Gatas Beach, if desired, bring a towel and bottle of water (there is no public changing area). Wear comfortable clothing, shoes, and sun protection. At Monte Verde it can be chilly during the months of November - March. Bring cash if you would like to purchase a snack or beverage at the local restaurant.

Excellently organized holiday. The fact that Cabo Mundo works with local people is real added value. Not only are they friendly, flexible, joyfull and punctual, but they are more than willing to bring you into contact with the local way of life. Recommended tours: snorkling with turtles (Sao Vicente), tours in Mindelo and Sal, hike Xoxo, hike Cova Crater. Recommended hotels: Walhalla (Cruzinho - Santo Antao), BobbyWasHere Penthouse appartments (Sal), Prassa3 (Mindelo)

I traveled with Bunkhouse, who partners with Cabo Mundo Tours, with 9 (then) strangers from Belgium to Cape Verde for 9 days. Upon arrival in Sao Vicente, we were greeted by Lina and our guide for the hikes Denis, who transported us and our luggage to the hotel in Mindelo. An accommodation perfectly chosen for its wonderful view and hospitality, which immediately set the tone for our trip. Lina is more than a tour guide, she's the organizational force behind the activities, eating locations and accommodations on the trip. She's also fluent in Creole –the islanders local language, Flemish/Dutch, English (and possibly French too) which is extremely helpful in dealing with any miscommunication with the locals who are not always fluent in English or experienced in dealing with tourists. She's very conscious about working with the local people, giving us the opportunity to see eco farms owned by locals and getting to taste dishes made the Cape Verde way. Our trip continued on the island of Santo Antão, a green paradise lush with agricultural fertile soil for fruit and vegetables and volcanic mountain ridges and steep hike paths that, if conquered, will lead to breathtaking views and immeasurable sense of accomplishment. After our hikes we were given plenty of time to relax and enjoy a caipirinha. It was through this sense of joined accomplishment that me and our fellowship of travellers bonded together. We embraced the national motto of Cape Verde: No stress. Together we faced our sore legs head on. No challenge was insurmountable with the thought of a fresh shower and another caiprinha on the other side. Our hiking guide Denis, a local young man with great spirit for adventure, knows the island like the back of his hand and can give explanations about local fauna and flora, national traditions, and the real way of life for the people of Santo Antão, in fluent English. Seeing him say hello and shake hands with people he knows all around the island is such a testament to the idea of community that lives everywhere you go. And soon enough you'll start to say, 'Bom dia! ' wherever you go, too. When one of our companions fell ill, Lina stayed with them for a visit to the clinic on the other side of the island, which can be very scary in a foreign country so knowing they were in good hands assured everyone's minds. This trip has left me with a lot of thoughts. On one hand it boldens my determination to strive for better environmental protection in the face of global warming, but also my awareness about my privilege as a westerner, a tourist, about poverty and creating sustainable economic chances for people that might be out of our daily view. I knew this trip wouldn't just be a sightseeing vacation, but Lina and Denis approach the tour around the islands in a way that shows why and how they fell in love with it. It is through this warm vulnerability and generosity that you get to see the best of Cape Verde and its people. I can only recommend you go experience it for yourself. TLDR; Cabo Mundo ensures a fun, engaging experience, tailored to your wishes that gives you a range of diverse activities that highlight Cape Verde's best qualities. And there's usually a caiprinha at the end of the day!

I had the best birthday ever, with a tour organized by Cabo Mundo Tours where I took a plunge in the waterfall of Ribeira da Torre on Santo Antão Island! This gorgeous green island stole my heart. And the team was truly amazing

Very very good service via WhatsApp in different languages (Dutch in my instance). We booked a day trip to Sao Vicente & swimming with sea turtles. Cabo Mundo Tours made these excursions unforgettable. Everything was perfectly organized and the staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cape Verde.

During our stay in Cape Verde we planned all our activities with Cabo Mundo. It was really well organized and we had an amazing time! Both guides we had were really kind and could explain us a lot about the Cape Verdean culture. We had a lot of fun with them and they made our holiday unforgettable! I would highly recommend to book an activity with Cabo Mundo!
