This beautiful bridge connects (Switzerland) France and Germany. It is the longest suspension bridge over Rhine , 248 meters long exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists. Before starting our Rhine River Cruise from Huningue, we went for a walk on the bridge. Within 6/7 minutes we were in Weil am Rhein (Germany). The bridge had amazing view of all three countries. a great place for photo lovers. The German side had a shopping center and France side had a nice park and beach. There was no checking or passport control while crossing from one country to another.

Some reviews stated it was underwhelming. However, we felt it to be a completely understand visited spot, and worth it. Yes, the 2 countries meet in the river, which is this glacial water blue-green, the surrounding nature adds to the uniqueness of the spot. Be on the look out for the small plaque on the ground. The calming rolling water stream is not the only sight to see, surrounded by high peaks, from Austria, Switzerland, and Leichtenstein will have you spinning to take it all in. Highly recommend stopping here before moving on to Vaduz Visitor center!

I didn’t know Basel bordered France and Germany so it was really cool to walk from Switzerland to Germany for a lovely pretzel and then to walk across the bridge to France for coffee and a delicious pastry. The bridge itself is nothing spectacular but really cool thing to do while visiting Basel. There is no border control that I seen for those worried, I did bring my passport card just in case.

The Three Countries Bridge is an incredibly unique and fun spot that left a strong impression on me! With just one step, you can stand at the meeting point of three countries: Germany, France, and Switzerland — a rare and exciting experience. The bridge has a sleek, modern design with a gentle curve over the Rhine River, making it perfect for a scenic walk, great photos, and a moment to feel the cultural connection between nations. The air is fresh, the river views are lovely — especially at sunset. A must-visit landmark that beautifully unites three countries in one stunning view!

Please don't think that you can get to the bridge directly from Three Countries point. You can't. From Switzerland you have to either walk or get the tram to Germany and then walk to the bridge. I walked and it took me about 20 mins. With the help of Google Maps I had no issues at all. I was alone and felt safe at all times. Even as I walked through the docks.
