Excellent company. Always reliable for me. Recently back in Iceland and I can see the collapse in standards in the taxi industry here. Unfortunately Iceland has decided to follow policies similar to Ireland with a lack of qualified and local knowledgeable drivers, handed taxi licenses. I would strongly suggest to stick with qualified local drivers as driving conditions can be very difficult in the winter. Also for personal security for ladies travelling on their own please do not select a random cash/discount driver at the airport or downtown late at night. I would request Hreyfill to pass on my concerns to Iceland taxi regulators but it would probably be no use. Please do not get in to a shared license/unqualified drivers car, for the sake of 'saving' 10%. Only go with qualified drivers such as Hreyfill.

The taxis are quick, clean, efficient, easy, and the drivers are friendly. My only caution is that if you’re traveling from the US, the prices are VERY high. About $32USD for under 10 minute rides. $80 for a 20 minute ride, so use sparingly. Most places are easily walkable!

Spent 7 days traveling around the whole Ring Road at a total of 3000KM. When I was ready to drop off my campervan and head back to Keflavik, Hreyfill Taxi showed up in less than 5 minutes. I was lucky to get Ari Thorsteinsson who was a genuine, knowledgeable, and kind person. We had great conversations and would recommend him to anyone. Our fare from Reykjavik to Keflavik was $180 USD for the 45 minute ride and was worth not taking the Flybus. I was impressed, on 04.09, by the empathy of Béla, who tried to find a solution when hearing that my family was abandoned by another company and there was a high risk of not catching a flight, and the kindness of his colleague, who preferred to have only the phone number mentioned, +3547764173, and with whom I had a very pleasant discussion on the way to the airport.
