There is currently an exposition Christmas Garden - an evening light show. It is really nice, but watch out of the price "15,95 € bis 26,95 € Preis an der Abendkasse: ab 17,95 € bis 28,95 €" - of course it was 28.95 Eur. It is also possible to book it together with the cable car and there is also a family ticket. Book it online, it better to see the possibilities.

The price may be cheap , built in with the cable car, but as an english tourist it was all a bit underwhelming. The main signs had translation but lots of others in museums didnt. Some great views from the top, the fort has potential but needs more as currently is well below par.

Amazing history and great views. We took a tour through our Viking river cruise, and the guide, in British character, David Davies, was brilliant. Such a labyrinth of passageways and walls made it difficult to gain a perspective of the fortress' size. The Christmas decorations were up so that was a bit of distraction. Still, a place that deserves to be seen.

Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is a colossal and imposing structure that dominates the landscape high above the Rhine, offering visitors a profound look into European military history and superb views. As one of the largest preserved fortresses in Europe, the site offers expansive grounds, fascinating historical exhibitions, and preserved fortifications that are easily explored. Beyond the history, the true reward is the breathtaking viewpoint over the Deutsches Eck, where the two great rivers meet, and the surrounding UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The fortress is easily accessible via the cable car and serves as an excellent destination for history buffs, view seekers, and families looking to appreciate the massive scale of 19th century Prussian defense architecture.
