My spouse and I went on a Canal and Bay Tour through Holland America recently and we loved it! The tour was so interesting with a fantastic narration in English. We had lunch and drinks on board with beer available for purchase. The staff was very nice and attentive. The captain and first mate invited us up to the bridge of the tour boat (ferry) for an up close view of the locks and inter workings off how these boats pass through with the Canal Pilot. I can’t say enough how great this tour was! It was a long day and not recommended for small children and adults with physical disabilities. The crew made every effort and more to assure our comfort and that we were taken care of. I highly recommend this tour company! Thank you!

The tour is Interesting. They serve you food during the tour and the guide was very informative. Having always wanted to see the canal, the trip was something I enjoyed. That said, there are some things you should know and some suggestions for the tour company. 1. This is an ALL day tour. We thought it was a half day adventure but, in reality, it started with a bus ride from our hotel at 9:30 am and ended back at the hotel at 7 pm. 2. The bus is typical for the area and makes multiple stops at multiple hotels. I would suggest finding out where to go and use Uber...it will save you an hour! 3. Once on the bus, there was no communication between the tour folks and the passengers. They could have made the journey interesting by talking about sites but we got nothing. Again, if you do this tour, pls know it will take all day.
