Buy tickets online, maybe in advance if you go on the weekend otherwise you can do it once you arrive. We had no line on Friday. It's expensive but a must see in Athens. We recommend sneakers since there's a lot of rocky floors and actual rocks around the structures- I've seen a woman wear heels and fall before so trust me. Not recommended to purchase a tour, just download an app with navigation and information. It was really nice and we could take our time sitting and watching. Not many bathrooms and no cafe, however there is a cheap water bottle vending machine at the top, 50 euros. I am giving it a 3.5-4/5 because of the cost compared to other countries' tourist/historic monuments- it's high. I agree with the other reviewer that it just doesn't seem justified given what you can see: they should include the museum in the fee because the museum is small and overpriced. It was neat to see everything but it's very destroyed, it's a shame. You can see the lighter areas on the structures are the rebuilt areas. It was cool to see the workers actively restoring while we were there. It was a cloudy day but not hot- perfect! Also saw 2 cats. I think if we dressed as a cat we could've snuck in?

I got there early in the morning, before all the crowds, and it was really nice. Met this glorious keeper of the Acropolis on the walk up to the top. Very dashing! On the way out, it was around 10am and all the tour busses and students were surging in and the crowds were insane. I'm glad I picked the 1st appointments in the morning, as I got to see the sunrise and hardly any people to clog everything up.

Now I understand when my Greek friends say they cannot afford their heritage. First, the site is really nice to see, but the cost is way too steep. Your entrance costs a crazy 30€ and that is just for this sight. A quick calculation of the main sights to see in Athens and You'll be spending over 112€ to see the main ones. Is the 30€ entrance fee worth it? In my opinion no. While the location looks great from a far it does suffer with quite a few problems: The condition of there ruins aren't the best, other sites in other countries are in better conditions than the acropolis. The layout of the place is bizare. With the entrance you gain access to ground around it and below and to access some areas you have to go through a narrow path that operates on both directions of incoming and oncoming visitors to the site. You will find that there are multiple visitors to the site and you will have to queue and even wait inside the location. Also, a few areas where closed off which made some things innaccesible and for all traffic to flow through one narrow path instead of two. A lot of these sights have some metal frames around them for the restoration, you may find it hard to get a good picture. All in all, see it from a far and check pics on internet

Fantastic part of history, amazing and magnificent ! Recommend to anyone visiting Athens, stunning views of the city and surrounding area, you can buy tickets when there or pre book online which can be cheaper if you look around, accessible only from the south slope where there is a gate checking tickets, friendly staff all around, wheelchair accessible and lots of places to take photos of the Parthenon and the surrounding city, take your time in the grounds as there is a lot to see, have a slow walk up the north or south slope and take in the magnitude of the place. I would advise to bring water and all necessary things especially on a hot day, there are no facilities inside and once inside you cannot enter once leaving.

Great for history enthusiast, families and those who can walk very well. Recommended. I'm doing this site even without the museum will be a great experience. Make sure to have a lot of water. This is easily between 4 to 5 hours trip.

Stavros was an excellent guide. Very informed. And very helpful. The Acropolis is very busy but Stavros’s advice helped us make the most of the half day experience.

We had a great day visiting all the main sites in Athens, with Stavros leading the way! He was very informative and brought us to the various areas to see, then picked us up with ease and we were off to the next. His vehicle was very nice (Telsa) and he even brought my friends hat back to our hotel angler she forgot it in the car. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an incredible introduction to Athens. Thanks Stavros!

Panos was amazing! He greeted us and made us feel like we were the most exciting part of his day. He was passionate and enthusiastic about sharing the stories of Athens with us as well as the history and mythology. He answered any questions we had, even if they weren't "tour" specific, and truly made us feel like we were on a trip with a friend and not just a guide. We got to see all the major sites in a matter of hours instead of trying to get everywhere ourselves, and got to get some information about each place in the process. Absolutely the best way to see the city.
