Then we met Majid, and that's when the day truly came alive. We visited the view point at the Strait of Gibraltar, then took camel rides on the beach. Which sounds touristy, and maybe it is, but it was unforgettable. The ocean breeze, the wide open coast... It felt like a dream, in the best way. And then, lunch. Majid took us to a tiny, tucked-away spot that we never would've discovered otherwise. No frills, just incredible, authentic food, clearly made with pride. It was one of those meals you remember for a long time. Majid is the kind of guide you hope for. He's not just knowledgeable, he's passionate about his city and its story. We wandered the backstreets of the Medina, discovered hidden courtyards, and heard the kind of history that feels like it's being passed down just for you. I saw places I never would've found on my own, and felt completely safe and at ease the entire time. Looking back, I'm a little embarrassed that I ever questioned coming to Tangier.
