Had an amazing tour into the national park to see waterfalls and the old village! Pedro was a great guide and made sure we had a chance to swim, as well as giving us lots of information about the area and plants. We had a great lunch at a local restaurant too - one of us is coeliac and Pedro made sure everything was safe. Would highly recommend!

I booked this tour for my birthday and had the best day ever! The national park was absolutely stunning, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. The tour was very well organised, and I loved learning about how the company supports the local village community and helps with tree planting in the park such a meaningful initiative. Our guide Diogo was a legend ! so deeply connected to nature and the region. His passion for what he does and for the land and the community truly shines through, making the experience priceless. I also really enjoyed sharing the day with two other wonderful travellers. And Diogo’s taste in music was brilliant it added even more fun to the journey! Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience on the Kayak in Peneda-Geres National Park. Our guide, Gui, was engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable in sharing history and information about the park. We could not have asked for better weather that day too! Kayaking on the lake was beautiful and peaceful. We hiked to a hidden waterfall, had a delicious lunch, and then got to see even more gorgeous views. We also had the special experience of coming across some of the wild horses that are in the park. It was really an overall special day. While many people take day trips to the Douro Valley for wine tours, we chose this instead to do something different and get to experience nature. We're so glad we did! We can't recommend Oporto Adventure Tours enough.

It's an unique national park experience for us in that it is equally about the people, the culture and scenery, the nature. Without Ivar (the Land Rover nicknamed by our guide), we wouldn't be able to through the rough terrain to get to the swimming holes under waterfalls. But it is quite uncomfortable seating 8 and this 26 year-old jeep has half a million kilometers on it already! On the other hand, without Diogo, our guide, the trip might be boringly uncomfortable. Oh, boy, he can drive, he can swim, he knows biology, he is passionate about the ecosystem in the park, he waves and chats with all the villagers, he comes back to the park even when he is off! He knows his geography and asked insightful questions of everyone. "You are going to Nazares? Do you know if Hawaii or Nazares has bigger surfable waves?". He entertains us throughout the trip, making the uncomfortable car ride forgettable. To be honest, if you are looking for breathtaking views and scenery, look elsewhere. If you want to emerse in a unique bio-cultutal and a deep passionate pursuit, this one may just be the special one for you. If you don't like reading the brochure of the tour, get ready to be surprised. This is not you regular guided nature walk.

Alejandro took us on a national park tour on Sept. 18, 2025, and was, hands down, the BEST part of our travels through Portugal. There were six of us on our tour, and Alejandro kept conversation going without ever seeming like he was "putting on a show." He is a kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful person who obviously cares deeply about the ecology of the absolutely gorgeous park and the well-being of the people who still live in the park. The villagers greeted him like one of their own, and he helped us understand how they work together to maintain their community and way of life. Alejandro helped my wife, who has a few mobility issues at the moment, navigate some of the rockier parts of the hiking portions of the tour. He took us to two stunning waterfalls where we were the only people present and gave us plenty of time to swim in the pools beneath them. (Definitely bring bathing suits and towels!) An outstanding lunch at a very nice village restaurant was included in the tour, and it featured some unique local flavors. (I'll be craving that wine sausage for the rest of my life!) We had a wonderful time getting to know the other people on the tour and Alejandro, who speaks several languages fluently, is a world traveler, and has studied in the U.S. If he ends up being your tour guide, trust me, you're in good hands.
