Great place to chill out. - On weekends and holidays the fare is 250 per head. - Monday-Friday the fare is 150 per head. - Thursdays it is closed. - Timings are 11am to 6pm. I liked the lake view the most. Don't miss the sunset there before leaving! There is something for every person. There are different kind of galleries. The cafe is good with variety of options. Cost is a little higher. Note that the outside food is not allowed! The washroom facility is clean and present across various corners. I recommend to visit early an enjoy throughout the day. We came via cab booking. Nt sure about getting cabs late evening, although the people said that it is available. Also there is a city-bus stop close by, near to khadakwasla. So transit is not very difficult. There was not much crowd and it lets you enjoy away from all the noise and pollution. Despite the serene area it felt safe.

Absolutely amazing experience... There are several halls with displays that keep changing..The auditorium has a variety of shows on weekends. Huge lawns and shaded places for taking an afternoon nap. The lawns are touching the Khadakwasla dam back waters, serene. Ample car parking available. The highlight is the super canteen which serves typical Maharahstrian dishes like kothimbir wadi, pithla bhakri and others, and serves pizza and other stuff. The food is very good. Lot of beverages on the menu - non alcoholic only. A must visit for Punekars and tourists.

Zapurza Museum is a truly unique place that celebrates different forms of art. There’s something here for everyone to enjoy and connect with. The location itself is beautiful, set near the scenic Khadakwasla backwaters, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed one-day trip. All the art galleries are impressive, but one particular aspect really stood out for me. They have created display boards featuring renowned Marathi artists like V. S. Khandekar and B. B. Borkar, along with their poems and important quotes. It felt very thoughtful and meaningful. This is a wonderful initiative to introduce and pass on our rich Marathi literary heritage to the next generation

Zapurza Museum is truly a hidden gem and a delightful escape that perfectly blends art, culture, and nature all maintained by PNG. Spread across a vast area, the entire space is thoughtfully designed and immaculately maintained, making it a pleasure to explore at a relaxed pace. The peaceful surroundings, with backwaters and lush greenery, instantly set a calming mood. The museum houses around fifteen galleries, each beautifully curated with paintings, handicrafts, antique collections, traditional sarees, jewelry, and more. What makes the experience even better is the detailed information shared by the staff, which helps visitors truly appreciate the exhibits rather than just viewing them. There are also interactive workshops and DIY corners such as glass painting, block printing, and other creative activities. We especially enjoyed painting on cloth bags—although pottery was tempting too, the queue was quite long. Thankfully, there were plenty of other engaging activities to enjoy. Cultural events and performances are hosted in the auditorium and amphitheatre, both set amid scenic backwaters, adding a unique charm to the place. The café is a nice spot to unwind, serving tasty food. You can also simply sit on the steps or relax on the lawn, enjoying the cool breeze by the water. A souvenir shop at the end offers a lovely collection of items to take home as memories. During our visit, the Sanskar Bharti group was also there, creating watercolor paintings on-site. Watching them work added an artistic vibrancy to the atmosphere and was truly the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience. Overall, Zapurza is a must-visit destination for art and culture lovers.

If you’re in Pune and wish to dive into the essence of Maharashtrian art and culture, Zapurza Museum is a must-visit. Located in a peaceful, scenic area, it offers stunning views of Sinhagad Fort and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for a weekend outing. Zapurza showcases the best of Maharashtra’s artistic legacy through beautifully curated galleries — from the history of Marathi cinema and Paithani sarees to traditional jewellery, local art, and even quirky matchbox art. Every exhibit tells a story, making the experience both educational and inspiring. The campus also features an auditorium and amphitheatre, where cultural shows are held on select days between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. For families, there are fun, chargeable kids’ activities like pottery, glass painting, and jewellery making — perfect for little artists in the making. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to help, adding warmth to the visit. The on-site café is managed by Poona Guest House, known for its delicious food and excellent service, however their service is slow. Final Thoughts are that Zapurza isn’t just a museum — it’s a living celebration of Marathi tradition and creativity. Whether you’re an art lover, history buff, or just looking for a serene escape near Pune, this place is truly worth exploring. Tip: Stay till evening for a breathtaking view of Sinhagad Fort from the campus!
