From the top is a amazing view to area around. Better go from Colonia Suiza. It's 8 kms from center of the village and last 5 kms go up for 160 meters for 1 km. This way for bicycles (almost part). There aren't many people. During hiking I met less than 10 people. Another way is more hard.

Beautiful! The higher you go, the more beautiful it becomes. You have a forest full of flowers and a spectacular view! However, the climb is very strenuous. I couldn't do the last stretch to the viewpoint because I didn't have the right equipment, as it's very steep, but the view must be spectacular. I recommend going early, bringing sunscreen, and 2 liters of water per person. If you have respiratory problems or vertigo, I don't recommend it.

SPECTACULAR!! The BEST VIEW of Bariloche, its lakes, and the south face of Catedral. Leaving from Tambo de Baez, you'll need to leave your car and the STEEP ascent takes 3 hours (keep your pace calm and take photos). Most of the hike is through a forest until the vegetation ends, and you have to walk through a rocky area a few meters before reaching the viewpoint. The descent takes 2 hours. Attention!! Bring 2 liters of water per person in summer. (There are no natural springs along the entire route). Sunscreen and a hat are essential!! Also, keep in mind that if the weather permits, you must stay at the viewpoint for an hour, as the view is unique!! You can continue 1 km further to the summit along a narrow ridge. (I recommend using walking sticks throughout the hike). I leave you with photos of the views and some surprises you find along the way... enjoy it!!!

Cerro Bella Vista offers incredible views of Bariloche, the Circuito Chico (Small Circuit), the Rucaco Valley, and the Casa de Piedra Valley (which leads to the Jacob Refuge). The trail begins in Tambo Baez and, after a few minutes, forks: left to the Jacob Refuge and right to Cerro Bella Vista. The trail is 4 km long to the summit, but it is quite demanding due to its steep incline. It starts at 850 meters above sea level and ends at 1787 meters above sea level, with an elevation gain of almost 1000 meters. The good thing is that it runs mostly through the shaded forest, allowing for frequent stops. After 1600 meters, the trail leaves the forest and continues ascending through a steep and rocky area with loose scree. Bring 2 liters of water per person, trail snacks, lunch, and appropriate hiking boots. Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a jacket for the summit, as it's often windy. The jacket will keep you comfortable and allow you to enjoy the beautiful view a little longer. Important: 1. Do not hike the trails at night without experience. 2. Do not camp or light fires where it is not permitted. 3. There is cell phone and internet service along most of the route. 4. Inform a family member, friend, or staff member at your accommodation of your planned hike and approximate return time. 5. Don't forget to complete the national parks trekking registration form.

Although the climb from Tambo de Baez, where the vehicle is parked, is only a few kilometers, it's important to note that the ascent is very steep. Therefore, it's important not to confuse distance with difficulty. In my case, I couldn't continue when we reached the first ridge because I have vertigo, but my husband did (I'm sharing photos). The view from the trail, and even more so from the summit, is spectacular. Remember to bring plenty of water because there's no way to refill it along the way.
