Experience the charm and beauty of Cordoba during the renowned Patios Festival, a unique celebration of flowers, architecture, and local tradition. Set in the historic old town, this festival invites visitors to wander through private patios that are lovingly decorated with vibrant flowers, aromatic plants, and sweet fragrances, creating an enchanting sensory experience. The festival, which has its roots in the early twentieth century, was temporarily interrupted during the Spanish Civil War but was revived in the fifties and continues to captivate visitors each year. The patios are open during specific hours, allowing guests to explore and admire the carefully arranged plants, colorful tiles, and intricate architectural details that reflect the city’s heritage. Beyond the patios, visitors have free time to discover Cordoba’s charming streets, historic squares, and scenic corners, making the day a perfect blend of culture, nature, and leisure. Every courtyard tells a story, showcasing the pride and creativity of the local community while offering an unforgettable glimpse into Andalusian life.

The journey begins with convenient pickup locations along the Costa del Sol, ensuring a comfortable and seamless start to the day. Travelers can join from Cala de Mijas, Fuengirola Fairground, Arroyo, Minerva, Benalmadena, or Torremolinos, with the schedule arranged to maximize time at the festival and allow a relaxed pace throughout the visit. Guests will have ample opportunity to immerse themselves in the floral displays, take photographs, and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Cordoba’s most cherished cultural events. The return journey in the late afternoon allows visitors to reflect on a day filled with beauty, tradition, and discovery. From departure to return, this excursion offers a captivating experience of Andalusian culture, combining the visual splendor of the patios with the historic charm of Cordoba, leaving guests with lasting memories of a festival that celebrates creativity, heritage, and the spirit of the city.

Love the patio displays on San Basilio neighborhood. The night we saw them was indeed memorable few of them being quite an amazing display of plants and old relics.

The beautifully decorated patios of San Basilio neighbourhood of Cordoba was not something we had heard about. We went on a guided tour to this area, which was a lovely experience. Apparently, there is an annual competition of the patios in May and we were pleased to visit some former prize winners. The families were very welcoming and keen to explain about their proud exhibits, which were beautiful. We usually buy something or leave a little contribution as a token of their hard work. It was something which came as a pleasant surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing walk, worth the money. Especially welcoming owners, open to discussing the gardens. The flowers are beautiful everywhere. Don't hesitate.

I went in August which was nice but it would be better in spring when the flowers are all blooming. They only tended to be open in the morning time and it's a good idea to have a good amount of coins with you as entry is based on a donation. Some had much friendly owners than others and hearing the stories was interesting.
