Johann was a brilliant tour leader. The walk was gently-paced, full of conversation and story, and well conducted. An absolute highlight of our trip.

I started my 30th birthday with an early-morning walking tour led by Johann Binny Kuruvilla of the Kochi Heritage Project. Learning about the rich, layered history of Fort Kochi was both fascinating and emotional. I’ve visited many of these spots countless times, yet I’d never paused to reflect on the stories behind the monuments, cafes and the graffiti here. Hearing about the people both past and present who have shaped Fort Kochi into what it is today was truly inspiring. I’ve done walking tours in different parts of the world, but this was my first in my hometown, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Doing this may just change the way you see your city forever.

Amazing storyteller !! We had a fantastic fort kochi walking tour with Johann and enjoyed every minute of it. From very clear and prompt communication leading upto the tour to a phenomenal 2 plus hour experience . Johann is very well versed in Kochi/India/world history affairs and we ended up chatting quite a bit on Kochi , its multicultural history to current affairs. The whole tour felt very unrushed and he took special care for an older family member by stopping frequently and conducting most of the tour in patches of shade on a hot day. Very considerate !

I had a truly memorable experience with The Kochi Heritage Project. Johann guided us with a style of storytelling that felt effortless yet deeply engaging. The walk reflected his genuine love for Kochi, and that passion made every stop along the way meaningful and unique. Thank you TKHP! I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Kochi beyond the surface.

The Master of Storytelling in Kochi. It was an amazing experience to walk with Jahann Binny Kuruvilla of The Kochi Heritage Project in the streets of Mattancherry as part of the Heritage Walk. We have seen some historical buildings, old shops, and community temples. The best part of this walk is that we had the opportunity to taste some local snacks, Gujarati lassi, and sweets. His style of storytelling is unmatchable. There is so much to know and listen to about the hidden gems and exciting heritage in Kochi. He is a master of storytelling with superb knowledge about Kochi's history. I will join more such walks in the future. More power to him for his wonderful initiative to make people aware of the heritage.
