The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is a breathtaking destination that brings Egypt’s ancient history to life in a truly modern and inspiring way. Located near the Giza Pyramids, the museum is one of the largest archaeological museums in the world and offers visitors an unforgettable journey through thousands of years of civilization. From the moment you enter, the museum impresses with its striking architecture and spacious galleries. Inside, visitors can explore an extraordinary collection of artefacts, including statues of powerful pharaohs, beautifully preserved jewellery, and everyday objects that reveal how ancient Egyptians lived. One of the highlights is the display of King Tutankhamun’s treasures, shown together in one place for the first time, allowing visitors to fully appreciate their beauty and historical importance. What makes the GEM especially appealing is how it combines history with modern technology. Interactive displays, clear explanations, and well-designed exhibitions make the experience engaging and easy to understand for people of all ages. Large windows also offer stunning views of the nearby pyramids, reminding visitors that they are standing at the heart of one of the world’s greatest civilizations. The Grand Egyptian Museum is more than just a museum—it is a celebration of human achievement, culture, and creativity. For tourists seeking adventure, knowledge, and inspiration, GEM is a must-visit destination. A trip to Egypt would not be complete without experiencing this remarkable museum, which promises memories that will last a lifetime.

The museum is huge. We bought the tickets with the tour guide and it was a good tour even though we were a group of 30 people. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and walked us through the museum in an hour and a half. She was providing enough details and also kept a good pace of the tour so people don't get stuck in one place. We visited the GEM during the holiday break in December and it was PACKED. I would suggest to do the GEM visit in the morning since many people do the Pyramids in the morning and the GEM in the afternoon. Make sure you buy tickets in advance on the GEM website.

Amazing place!! One gets a glimpse of history in its grandeur! Very well organized and planned out layout. Keep atleast 2 hours to quickly see all the exhibits. Also to mention the restaurant inside serves the most delicious quesadillas and that too so quickly! Great pleasant customer service too! Tutankhaman gallery was amazing! So keep I would say more than 2 hrs to visit and learn about all the exhibits. Would love to visit again!

Excellent. A must visit. We as foreigners had a free pass, meaning we were not restricted to specific visiting hours. As part of their crowd control measure, they limit visitors to specific time slots based on their booking. Excellent architectural design. Very well thoughout layout and illumination of artifacts with no harsh lighting that affects your viewing pleasure. It's good to have a guide to help you focus on the important displays, museum design layout if you have limited time to visit. We spent 3 hrs with our guide and it felt like a rush. You can easily spend 1 whole day there taking in all the sights. Highly recommended place to visit.

Overall very good experience - would advise to buy your own ticket for going inside the pyramid, Camel ride or horse ride as it would be cheaper then getting the guide to buy it as they charge Comission

Our trip to Cairo and the Giza Pyramids was amazing. The experience was made even better by our tour guide, Khames, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He made everything smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Bus journey was quite long and uncomfortable but it was all worth at the end.

Great experience I had when I visited the new museum! Things to note when visiting is to book online as it made life a breeze and didn’t have to jump through challenges when I arrived there! The museum was clean and properly air conditioned, very big museum would recommend comfy athletic shoes! Also the artifacts were breath taking and would definitely recommend 3+ hours inside.
