Embark on a captivating journey to explore the luppolo fields at Mappavels Agricultural Farm, home to one of the highest hop plantations in Italy, meticulously cultivated by Sara Aromatario. Guests begin with a leisurely walk along a scenic country road, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Abruzzo countryside, leading to the vibrant hop fields. During the visit, participants will learn about the entire cultivation process, from planting to harvesting, and even have the hands-on opportunity to water the plants. This immersive experience offers a unique insight into the dedication and techniques involved in producing high-quality hops, allowing visitors to connect directly with the agricultural traditions that define the region.

The tour continues with a visit to the enchanting Castel del Monte, where the widespread museum reveals the rich history and culture of the area. Guests can explore the evocative exhibition spaces, which showcase local traditions, rural life, and historic practices, adding a cultural dimension to the experience. The day concludes at the farm’s retail outlet with a tasting of artisanal beers crafted from the very hops grown on the estate, accompanied by platters of local cheeses, cured meats, and other regional specialties. This final stop allows participants to savor the flavors of Abruzzo while reflecting on the journey from field to table. Combining hands-on agricultural discovery, cultural exploration, and gourmet tasting, this tour provides a remarkable and enriching experience that celebrates the region’s natural beauty, historic heritage, and culinary excellence.

5 couples from Kansas, USA spent 7 wonderful days touring the Killarney area, Dingle, Ring of Kerry, Cork and Limerick with Mia Tobin as our driver and tour host. We had an amazing trip jammed packed with all we wanted to see plus extras. Mia expertly gave us a good overview of the history, culture, food, shopping and music of the area. Mia had great restaurant and pub recommendations as well ! The trip was incredible for all of us and I would highly recommend Mia for any group ! She is personable, knowledgeable and genuine as well as an experienced driver and she is extremely prompt. She also is flexible with plans as the weather does not always cooperate especially for treks outdoors. I am so hoping our next trip to Ireland will be one where we can again call on Mia!

Mia at Ireland Hops put together such a fabulous vacation for myself and my family. My family started our planning a year in advance, and after some researching on guides, we quickly decided on Mia and Ireland Hops. From beginning to end, Mia worked with us on the itinerary. We told her about ourselves, and what kind of things we thought we would be interested in. She took that information, and made a proposed itinerary for us, including things we never would have thought of on our own. As the trip started, Mia watched every detail to make sure things went smoothly. She continued to be flexible, adding or changing things as she got to know us and our interests better. Best of all were the special moments that only a local tour guide could include, like learning hurling on the beach, and great seats in a pub to listen to an excellent Irish pipes player, Blackie O’Connell. We would definitely recommend Ireland Hops to anyone visiting Ireland.

Mia was our host for my 40th birthday. We did the day trip tour around Wicklow. Everything was planned out to perfection. The standard and quality of each stop was very good. Guides at the winery, brewery and distillery were very genuine and interesting. The food combinations also worked very well. Thanks Mia

Our tour was the 6 day Wild Atlantic Way craft beer and food tour and included 8 breweries, multiple castles, 5 nights at local B&Bs, cheese and chocolate makers, sheep farm, national park, Cliffs of Moher, and plenty of scenic photo opportunities. Mia Tobin is an accredited National tour guide and knows all of the brewers, businesses, and sights along the way. The tour was a perfect blend of beer, food, sights, and relaxation in all of the different villages. We had plenty of time to explore each town, see live music, many pubs, Irish dancing and even more breweries and distilleries on our own. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who doesn’t want to be bothered with setting up transportation, accommodations, or which sights to see. It’s all taken care of. Depending on your flight situation, I would spend an extra day or two in Dublin and see the town and of course the Guinness Brewery.

Mia made our trip unforgettable! Her deep knowledge of the history, great sense of humor and positive attitude made us feel welcomed on day #1. She was able to cater our activities to a large group — making sure there were options for everyone. She provided us with local recommendations along the way which helped us to truly be immersed in the culture. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Absolutely recommend Mia to anyone looking to visit Ireland! And will surely be back 🍻☘️ A million thank yous to Mia!
