Yuki conducted the workshop with such calm confidence and clarity, and her supervisor was incredibly attentive in assisting our large group throughout the session. What really stood out was their ability to accommodate our big group at the last minute without any compromise in quality or organization. Everything ran smoothly and felt thoughtfully prepared. The team was highly professional, patient, and genuinely welcoming. They took the time to ensure everyone understood the process, regardless of age or experience, and made the entire workshop feel relaxed yet well structured. Learning this traditional craft in a historic setting was truly special. If you are looking for an authentic cultural experience in Tokyo and need a team that can handle group bookings seamlessly, this workshop is an excellent choice.

We had a wonderful time at the Kumihimo Experience! Yuki was a wonderful host. We really appreciated learning the history behind Domyo and about the craft of Kumihimo before we began. The tutorial was excellent and we are very happy with how our pieces turned out. It will make a great souvenir and an even better memory.

Would absolutely recommend Domyo to anyone interested in kumihimo. Everyone there was delightful and welcoming - we had wonderful discussions all throughout the session. The shop is full of beautiful replicas they've recreated as well as more modern uses for the kumihimo. I love that they take the time to talk you through the history of the workshop and the work they've done before going on to the braiding. Knowing how much work goes into each piece really does increase the respect for it as an artform. The instructions were very easy to follow and it was an exceedingly relaxing and calming process - the time went by so fast! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was quite sad when it came to an end. I'll definitely try to come for one of the longer/more advanced workshops next time in Japan as I could have gone on for hours. The tea break at the end while they finished off the ends of my braiding was very welcome and I would not hesitate to recommend visiting to anyone!
