Don Lucas Cigars was a Breath of Fresh Air at the end of a bad shopping excursion experience. The prices were much more reasonable than they were anywhere else we visited on our vacation. The service was excellent. We spent about 3 hours here touring the place and sampling/shopping! I recommend that anyone visiting Punta Cana takes a trip over to Don Lucas Cigars!

A place full of cigars, children, rums, etc. But the price is way beyond reasonable.

We was greeted by a Cuban man called Yaroslavy and got to say he was absolutely brilliant, I’ve only been smoking for approx 2 years now and come away learning a couple of things. To see the leaves being dried out then into the humidor room where we was offered a cigar while walking round for a couple of dollars so they can be seasoned for how ever long they want them to be, then into the humidor room where you can choose what ones to buy was brilliant. Yaroslavy was full of knowledge on what ones to buy and not to buy, ones that are worth smoking and don’t cost a lot unlike some as he put it just some people to smoke for status. We was then shown into the rolling room where we rolled our own cigar placing the binder in the roller then the tobacco leaves and roll it and cut the ends to then give it to a lady so she could roll the wrapper on and glue it. Would highly recommend this place if your ever in DR also make sure you have a few 1$ bills to tip as it’s free to get in but have to tip the tour guide and to hand roll a cigar

Sure, the prices are a bit “tourist-friendly” (Meaning double), and yes — you can find the same cigars in local supermarkets for almost half the price. But honestly, the whole experience is worth it. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you’ll leave with good memories, great photos, and maybe a little buzz from the rum tastings. Women will love the variety of local cosmetics — great for gifts or souvenirs. Definitely worth a visit!

I was greeted with the upmost love and catered attention by Pepe, my nee amigo and an extremely knowledgeable aficionado who takes pride in their work, there at DLC. I went early in the morning because I didn't want to have huge crowds and be rushed, and therefore, the time spent was with me alone, and no dumb questions from others as I take my cigar life very seriously and went to learn more. I want to bottle the humidor scent in a jar and inhale every day, LOL.. Don Lucas are at the moment, my favorite sticks, due to the smoothness, ow even burn, flavor isn't harsh. With that said, IT WOULD BEHOOVE YOU TO TASTE BAVARO BLACK RUM, they are shoestring to your shoes, must go together. The manager , staff, and definitely PePe (ask for him) he even speaks a little French.
