Needed a professional hand with an upgrade on a tricky bottom bracket (thanks, Cannondale) AND a new Ultegra groupset. The lads there knocked this out in two days. No drama, great price, quick turnaround, gears shift like they're sliding on ice. Amazing.

I left my bike in for a service recently to have a full check-over and to have parts replaced on the bike. I mentioned a number of things that I wanted to have changed, including the tyres, chain, and a few other pieces. I also asked that anything else that needed changing/replaced to go ahead, plus I requested the bike to be cleaned. What I will say is that the turnaround (compared to other shops) was very quick (~4 days). Apart from that, the service was lacking in a few areas. First, as I cycled away, I noticed that the bearings in the pedals were worn. Although I never asked for them to be changed, it would certainly have been noticed as the bottom bracket and chain ring were replaced. Having worked in a bike shop previously, I would at least have called the customer to ask if they would like the pedals replaced with the condition they were in. However, they were left as is. Secondly, although the bike was cleaned, it certainly wasn't a thorough job. The bike still had scuffs that remained in a number of areas, so much so that I had to clean it when I brought it home. I believe they use a cleaning machine, but if I saw the results coming out of the machine and knew what was being charged, I would have given it a once over. At €25 for a clean, its not a great performance. Third, the chain that was put on my bike was red (the old one was black). Its not a massive issue, but aesthetically the bike is completely different. Again, if there were only a red chain in stock, most bike shops would call to confirm if that was okay. Finally, the service in general was very transactional. No niceties, no explanation as to what was done, just here's the cost and pay up, see you later. I left my lock in as it was broken and was unsure why. I was told it would be checked, and when I got the bike back, the key was taped to the handlebars and I got no explanation (it was the same employee who took the bike in in the first place). Again, having worked in a bike shop before I would have always explained exactly what was done with a bike before handing it over. In the end, you get exactly what you're going in for - no more, no less. If you want a good customer experience, there are some much better options locally. If you want a quick turnaround, you'll get it here.

Purchase a Cube Teamline aero road bike from Joe on recommended from a friend, straight deal no messing including durance pedals & electric garman. Change the wheels DT SWISS 38mm Carbom with tube & continental 500 TR tyres included in the price. Would highly recommend Hollingsworth Bikes Ltd.

I purchased a Trek dual sport earlier this year from this shop. Salesman wasn’t particularly helpful or that interested in making a sale which was fine as I knew the model I was after. I had a quick look over it. Pedals weren’t fitted(nor were they going to be until a deposit was received) The bike had the protective padding and tape in place, so I had no reason to suspect there was any issue with it. Decided to place a deposit over the phone. Picked it up a couple of days later. It was a case of there you go, no offer to size it correctly. Not really a problem but not best practice. Biggest issue I have discovered with the bike is that what I thought was protective tape covering the chainstay was actually tape they had placed to cover up significant paint damage. They might contend this bike had a price reduction, it had, but that was part of the TrekFest sale to clear stock of old models. Not once was I informed that this model was damaged. The pedals fitted were cheap nylon ones, not the stock aluminium ones that were supposed to come with the model. The build also was sloppy with the gear lever being so stiff I got RSI in my thumb. I have photos of the bike I took prior to purchase, just in case they want to deny they sold it with taped over damage. I advise caution when dealing with this crooked crowd, and I feel this kind of deceitful practice could damage the Trek brand, whom I shall be informing of my bad experience with this place.
