Experience the stunning natural beauty of North Iceland as you explore the Lake Myvatn area, a region filled with dramatic volcanic landscapes, steaming geothermal areas, and unique lava formations. Begin your journey with a scenic drive along Eyjafjorour, one of Iceland’s longest fjords, stopping first at the breathtaking Gooafoss Waterfall. Continue to Lake Mývatn, created by a massive basaltic lava eruption over 2,300 years ago, where the surrounding terrain is dotted with lava pillars, pseudocraters, and other fascinating volcanic formations. Along the way, you’ll visit Grjótagjá cave and the Hverarönd hot spring area in Námaskarð, immersing yourself in Iceland’s geothermal wonders.
On the return journey, explore the striking lava formations of Dimmuborgir and the pseudocrater area of Skútustaðagígar before concluding the tour with a panoramic view over Eyjafjörður toward Akureyri. For those seeking relaxation, the Mývatn Nature Baths provide a perfect opportunity to soak in mineral-rich waters or enjoy a soothing massage. Alternatively, visitors can unwind at the cozy Kvika restaurant, sampling local delicacies and beverages while taking in the serene surroundings. This tour perfectly combines adventure, nature, and relaxation for a full Icelandic experience.

Great thermal experience. Great location. Very picturesque surroundings. Has restaurant on site. Was one of last client before renovation starts to extend the thermal baths.

A wonderful geothermal experience at the Mývatn Nature Baths, also known as the Earth Lagoon. Advance booking is highly recommended due to limited slot availability. The artificially heated mineralized water pools are soothing and help rejuvenate the body after a long day of travel. Entry costs 7,500 ISK per person for a 3-hour session, which feels reasonable for the relaxing atmosphere. The poolside bar adds a touch of luxury, while the dining area offers tasty and affordable food (not included in the entry price). The pools are quite shallow, so be prepared to squat or sit low in the water. Don’t miss leaning along the pool edges to take in the stunning surrounding views — a perfect blend of comfort and Icelandic beauty.

What a beautiful hot springs. Definitely worth the stop. Excellent facilities and courteous staff. Amazing blue water that will soothe your body and soul. What makes this even better you dont have to deal with massive crowds. The water on the left side is definitely hotter but felt great.

Enjoyed our visit here. Not overly crowded. Quick walk from the parking area to get inside. Short walk from the changing rooms to get into the baths. We spent almost all of our time in the back right corner of the bath on the right. It was a nice warm area.

Very nice experience, friendly and helpful staff. Got there when they opened, and it filled up during the first hour, but would not say it was overcrowded at all. One can buy drinks at the pool, something we didn’t do. Three different pools with different temperatures. They are renovation and expanding at the moment, but we did not notice anything of it and it did not affect the experience. The restaurant was very busy when we left.
