I absolutely loved this museum—it’s 100% worth taking your time to explore it calmly. It has many galleries, some for temporary exhibitions and others permanent, and every single one is worth it. The museum has several floors, so it’s a good idea to use the restroom before starting, since they’re only on the ground floor. They also have lockers; I stored my jacket and backpack there, which made walking around much more comfortable. Oh! There’s also a café where you can take a break. Don’t forget to ask for the audio guide—the artworks are beautiful, and the explanations are really helpful and well done.
What an incredible collection.. If you want to see the whole museum you do need the whole day. Buy the tickets online and if possible at least a few days earlier. They can run out fast in high season. I would recommend to start early and visit the great hall first as it gets a bit crowded after and you can enjoy quality time. With Rembrant's work. There is only a few work of Van Gogh but they are worth seeing. . The café always has a line and The wait times can be long but it has quite a few tables and in our case it was only 15 minutes. We dropped our coats, which was convenient but had to wait in line for 15 plus minutes on the pickup.. Definetely recommended, It's a must do if you're in Amsterdam
This building has a beautiful architecture. And they have decent stuff to see. At least like London and louvre, they don't blatantly show what they have looted from colonies. I know every European country has a past of colonialism and Netherlands ain't different. But they have been really polite about this. Or "tolerant" of the past. Anyhow, one should visit this place. The rich history, the beautiful craftsmanship, effect of other countries on Netherlands can easily be visualized here.
