The adventure begins with a pick up from your hotel in El Calafate, where you'll board comfortable buses for a scenic drive towards the breathtaking Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Along the way, our knowledgeable guides will provide fascinating details about the region, the Perito Moreno Glacier, and the itinerary of the day. Once you arrive at Bajo de las Sombras port, you'll board a boat to cross Lago Rico, offering stunning views of the glacier as you approach the south face of Perito Moreno.

Upon disembarking, you'll be greeted by expert mountain guides who will lead you on a guided trekking adventure. The hike begins with a walk along the picturesque coast of Lago Rico, where you'll have the opportunity to admire the glacier’s awe-inspiring beauty. As you get closer to the glacier, the guides will provide a talk on glaciology, helping you understand the science behind the spectacular icy landscape before you. At this point, you’ll be divided into smaller groups of up to 20 people, and your guides will equip you with crampons and helmets to ensure safety as you embark on the ice trekking portion of the tour.

The three-hour trek takes you across the lake’s coast, a moraine, and through Patagonian forests, where the stunning blue hues of the glacier frame your surroundings. Along the way, you’ll explore varied terrains, from ice to woodlands, all the while gaining a deeper appreciation for the raw natural beauty of the region. This incredible journey offers a unique opportunity to experience the Perito Moreno Glacier up close, combining adventure, natural history, and a breathtaking environment that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Organized to perfection! The tour itself is a must while in Patagonia. Amazing experience. Our guides (Leo and Lusiandro I think 😀) were amazing, with the exact balance of information and fun.

Perito moreno glacier is great The minitrekking experience itself is "good", but quite expensive for what it offers. The mountain guides were very attentive and pleasant. We paid around USD 280 per person and we drove ourselves to the meeting point.

I’m not sure why people are rating this highly. This is a $400 tour for one hour on glacier plus $80 for hotel pick up plus $45 to access the national park. While the tour guides were wonderful, the price doesn’t make sense to me. I did the small ice one. They pick you up from hotel to drive you to a boat near the glacier then take the boat near the glacier. You go on a small hut to put snow thingy on your shoes to walk on ice. Then on a line you hike the glacier for an hour. This is similar to walking around on snow tho it’s ice. Nothing special here. Not worth the money

An incredible experience, and well worth doing. Yes, it is a little pricey, and you do still have to pay for your park pass, but we had an amazing day doing the mini trekking. I would highly recommend doing it if you can. We booked through getyourguide and got a discount - everyone uses Hielo so it's a no brainer if you want to save some money. The glacier experience is great, and the guide knows their stuff!

Loved it! The experience was awesome! The tour guide was interesting and funny, you get to drink whiskey and eat chocolate on the ice at the end. Before and after the tour there's cabins that you can sit inside and drink something hot. Recommended.
