This nighttime ghost walk explores Haunted High Street in historic Cambridge, widely regarded as the most haunted street on the Eastern Shore. Over the course of twelve stops, guests hear chilling and fascinating stories tied to soldiers governors sailors merchants and families whose spirits are said to linger. The tales come from well documented folklore collections and historic records, giving this tour a strong sense of authenticity rooted in local history rather than shock driven scares. Many of these spirits are believed to remain because of deep emotional ties to the community they once called home.
As you walk just a few short blocks, the atmosphere grows darker with stories of tragic deaths cursed families phantom ships and restless figures seen in homes and gardens. The tour passes churches courthouses museums wharves and some of the most beautiful historic homes in Cambridge, including the oldest house in town. These stories are not about violent hauntings but about spirits that quietly coexist with the living. The experience is both eerie and deeply engaging, offering a meaningful connection between history folklore and place.

Thanks Peter for all your efforts and information on the tour. Great to learn so much about my hometown on the tour. Lots of great little nuggets of info. The only thing I would say is it could be made a bit more humourous and cheeky (inline with the inferred link to Horrible Histories etc).

I decided to get a Terrible Tours ticket for Halloween night, and the Ghost Tour around Cambridge did not disappoint. Our tour guide, David, was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of Cambridge and its many paranormal occurances. The length of the tour was also ideal and it never felt like I was getting bored or tired. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in paranormal activities and learning about Cambridge. Although it did rain during the tour, it added some atmospheric ambience to the tour.

Excellent 90 minutes of Cambridges terrible history (and dad jokes). A great way to spend an evening, learning some of the creepier, lesser known facts, about Cambridge, it's colleges and it's history. Peter was the perfect guide, knowledgeable, funny and well versed in the darker, spookier side of Cambridge 👍
Felicity

Had a wonderful and very informative tour around the spookiest places in Cambridge with our tour guide Peter. Early September gave the atmosphere a pleasant temperature into the evening and the city was quiet with the absence of tourists and students, which added to the unsettling stories Peter shared with us. From the origins of famous turns of phrase to tragic stories of suicides, drownings and ghostly apparitions, Peter really knew it all and was an engaging and erudite - I would highly recommend anyone considering this tour to go ahead and book!

Paul was an excellent guide and made this tour extremely enjoyable. Kind and attentive toward a very mixed audience, Paul made sure to keep even the young audience engaged. We even saw some of the dinky doors! Learnt so much about the history of Cambridge and the ghosts that haunt it. Highly recommended!
