Calafate Southern Navigation Perito Moreno and Valley Trekking

We will begin our adventure early in the morning, setting off towards the heart of Lago Argentino for an exhilarating navigation to the bottom of the South Arm. As we glide through the waters, the breathtaking landscape around us will captivate our attention. Upon disembarking, we’ll embark on an unforgettable walk to the serene Frías Lake, where a gentle ascent will lead us to a natural viewpoint. From this stunning vantage point, we can take in panoramic views of Lake Frías and its stunning surroundings before descending toward its tranquil shore.

Next, we will board the Fitzcarraldo boat to continue our journey, sailing across the strikingly clear emerald waters for 5 km to the opposite shore. The pristine environment and crystal-clear waters create an idyllic atmosphere as we venture deeper into nature. Upon reaching the other side, we will begin a 6 km trek through the Frías River valley, gradually drawing closer to the imposing glaciers. The valley’s ever-changing landscape, with its mix of forests, rivers, and glaciers, will offer a dynamic and immersive experience.

As we trek, we’ll be surrounded by majestic glaciers, including the Grande, Cubo, and Dickson glaciers, which spill their icy waters into the Frías Superior Lagoon. These glaciers form a dramatic backdrop to the lush valley. If the wind conditions allow, we will enjoy a peaceful lunch on the shores of the Frías Superior Lagoon, taking in the spectacular scenery and tranquility of the area. This excursion is a perfect blend of navigation, trekking, and stunning natural beauty.
