We took the trip to the Hot Springs, which was amazing but the boat ride really was the highlight of the trip. Alastair, our guide, was incredible! He was very warm and knowledgeable. I could hear him talk all day about all the different wildlife facts, and his own stories! My partner and I have been out on the Island a lot but this trip has definitely made this place very special.

My wife and I went on the Hot Springs tour with the Whale Center in Tofino, and it was an amazing experience! The trip was about six hours, and even though it was mainly a hot springs tour, our guide and pilot Riley went out of his way to show us incredible wildlife — we saw whales, sea otters, and sea lions. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a better weather day in November to visit Hot Springs Cove! Our Captain Alastair was a delight! I appreciated his thoughtful recognition of the local Nations and also he provided great information during the trip about the local areas and highlighted many sights. We were fortunate enough to see many sea otters, California seals, porpoises, and even took a small detour on the way back to have the privilege to see a small pod of Biggs Orca! All at a very respectful distance as Alistair clearly cares about the local wildlife! His strong skills as a navigator and seaman were evident as the waters even in the choppiest areas felt very safe in his hands! The Hot Springs themselves was stunning! As well as the newly built boardwalk. Make sure to wear very grippy well made footwear as like all rainforest areas here in BC the walkways are slippy especially in the rainy season! All in all an absolutely wonderful day!

We just had the most amazing trip with Captain Allister. We went on the Hot Spring tour, but Allister also spent some time to take us to see a pod of ORCAS! It was the most magical thing ever. There were even porpoises! And he showed us lots of adorable sea otters, sea lions, seals, eagles, ravens and told us about the other different birds. The scenery was so beautiful too. The hot springs were a perfect warm temperature and it was so nice to hear the ocean waves crashing nearby. Even though the water was rough, Allister’s expert boat handling made the ride smooth, fun and enjoyable. I can’t recommend this tour enough.

My partner and I booked a closed-cabin whale watching tour to celebrate our honeymoon and our first trip to Tofino, and it was absolutely amazing. Truly an unforgettable experience. Our tour's skipper was Manuel (pictured), and he was fabulous. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife we were searching for/seeing, as well as the area's rich history. His passion and respect for the wildlife was obvious and heartwarming. Its great to know that the team at the whale center prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of the wildlife as much as its guests. The weather for our trip was impeccable, and we ended up seeing 5 grey whales (which was amazing, I may have gotten a bit emotional, lol). We also saw various sea birds, eagles, sea lions, and otters. The bears and sea wolves were more elusive, but we still had an amazing time. Even if we hadn't seen any wildlife, it still would have been an awesome way to spend the day being toured around the gorgeous seascapes around Tofino with Manuel. Thanks so much, Whale Center and Manuel! We'll definitely be booking another tour for our next trip :)
