Known as “Europe’s last Wilderness,” this region offers wild and untouched landscapes that are a dream for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. In early September, the Arctic tundra and mountain forests come alive with a brilliant display of deep reds, golds, and oranges, creating a stunning autumn palette set against the dramatic backdrop of the Scandinavian mountains. This is also the beginning of the season for the magical Northern Lights, which illuminate the night sky with breathtaking displays. The combination of autumn colors, rugged terrain, and the ethereal glow of the aurora provides a rare opportunity to capture images that are both powerful and evocative, reflecting the true essence of Swedish Lapland.

During this seven-day photography tour, we explore the most scenic parts of Swedish Lapland in a small group of aspiring photographers, ensuring a personalized and immersive experience. Our journey includes breathtaking locations such as Abisko National Park, the shores of Lake Torneträsk, and charming fishing huts nestled in remote landscapes. We will take advantage of the most atmospheric light during sunrise and sunset, the prime times for capturing dramatic landscapes. With a bit of luck, wildlife such as moose or reindeer may appear, adding life and movement to our compositions. Throughout the trip, we review our images, discuss techniques, and edit photos together. I will guide you through an efficient Lightroom workflow to enhance your images creatively and effectively. On clear nights, we will venture out to photograph the Northern Lights, taking advantage of Abisko’s remote location and clear skies to witness one of nature’s most mesmerizing phenomena. By the end of this journey, you will return home with a portfolio that captures the enchanting magic of Indian Summer in Swedish Lapland.
