Join a unique scuba diving experience focused on seagrass restoration, suitable for ages 10 to 75 and small groups of six. This activity requires good general fitness and certified Open Water Diver or higher certification. Upon arrival, you will be fitted with diving gear if needed and offered water, orangeade, coffee, or tea while meeting your dive guide. Transport to the beach or harbour is provided if needed, or you can drive your own car with free parking available. Led by an experienced marine biologist, you will participate in a citizen science project, learning how to evaluate and contribute to the health of seagrass ecosystems. The first dive lasts 45 to 75 minutes, followed by time to dry off and have lunch at your own cost. A second dive is conducted after lunch with a full tank and new briefing.
After diving, return to the centre to wash gear and join a lab session where you can observe your collected samples under microscopes, gaining insight into the microscopic life thriving on Neptune grass. Transport to and from the beach, lab equipment, air and weights are included, while lunch and pictures taken by the guide are not. All participants must be medically fit and able to dive, and pregnant women should not dive. Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in with QR code ready. Bring your diving certification, logbook, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, hat, wallet, and contact lenses if needed. This immersive experience combines hands-on diving with scientific learning and environmental conservation, providing a memorable and educational adventure under expert guidance.
