Sa

Really enjoyed our hike through the Atlas Mountains. Said is a super kind and knowledgeable guide when it comes to culture, history and plants. We also had the best chickens tajine made by a local family while overlooking the valley. Would recommend!

Said was a wonderful guide! I had two days in the Ourigane Valley and went on a half day trek (by mule and foot) through the Amazigh villages, learning about the culture, history, flora and fauna of the area, with a wonderful lunch in a traditional home. We were also able to visit the Association Tamounte, a local women's collective hand making rugs from old clothing, which was fascinating. Said came to the ecolodge the day before our trek to say hello, show maps and discuss a plan- I really appreciated meeting him first, especially as I was on my own. Said is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his culture. I also went on a 2 hour morning walk to the local salt mining area which was very interesting. After our hike, he texted me some links about history we had talked about, and he noted down some Marrakech highlights for later. I highly recommend booking with Said if you are spending time in Ourigane or any of the surrounding mountains- he offers many treks in the valley and throughout Morroco and I hope one day to return for an extended trekking tour with him!

Berbere Atlas Experience perfectly sums it up. Said not only shows you beautiful mountain vistas, but he does more than any guide I’ve had to really show you the way of life of the people who live there and how it changed, or not, over time. Your safety and well being are a priority as well.

We are a family of 4, with 2 teenage boys, and had the best day out with Said wandering the beautiful Ouirgane valley in the Atlas…it was the highlight of our trip to Morocco and just the type of authentic experience we wanted. From my initial contact with Said on WhatsApp, I had confidence he was the right person and guide; friendly, honest and flexible. He responded quickly and worked the itinerary and timings around what I was looking to do and could fit in. After spending the day with him, I know 100% he was the right guide and I am delighted I chose him for our walk. He was fun, informative and a delight to spend time with. His English is first class and, due to him growing up in the valley, knows everyone and everything to do with this part of the Atlas. He shared all of his knowledge of Berbere culture and traditions along with intimate knowledge of the flora and fauna found in the valley. One of the highlights of our day was stopping for lunch in a traditional Berbere village and home of a family friend. The family were extremely welcoming and the food was delicious. If you are looking for a truly authentic experience delivered by a local guide who is fun, trustworthy and a delight to spend time with then Said is the man, don’t hesitate to chose him, you will have the best day ever. Thanks Said.

After travelling all over the world can safely say that this cooking experience is one of the best things I have ever done! Said was so informative and funny. He took us around the local market explaining everything before we went to the village to cook in. The outdoor experience due to the guesthouse being damaged in the recent earthquake is a great way of keeping the tour going and supporting the family. If you are looking for an authentic experience... Not a touristy vibe this is the perfect experience
