We had Christmas Eve dinner at the resort. The food was spectactular! It's a beautiful location and a very cosy lodge. Their snowcat transport in and out was also very convenient. Highly recommended!

Snowcat ride to lodge. What a great way to spend a day! We booked the snowcat ride to the lodge and back and had a great time. The snowcat is brand new. Like immaculate inside. The seats were comfortable and the cabin was warm. You could control the temp if it got too hot by opening the skylight. The ride down and back took about 1.25 hrs and there were stops along the way to look at the views. At the lodge there was a full bar and restaurant serving drinks and hot chocolate. We walked around the property and lake on some groomed trails and then came back to the lodge lunch. I had the elk burger and the other people had the club sandwiches. The food and service was excellent. There were other guests there with snowmobiles that would come and go. It's super peaceful and quiet. We even saw a black fox. I would highly recommend this place. The new owners and entire staff are super nice and have remodeled the lodge and updated the vibe. This is a do not miss attraction for the city for locals and visitors from out of town looking for a backcountry snow experience without the stress.

Let me start by saying that Elk Lake was gorgeous and the water was perfect. The staff were mostly friendly as well. The heart of this two star review is feeling like I was ripped off when renting a glamping tent with zippers that did not work and propane heaters that did not work - when we asked for a refund we were given a measly 20% back. You can’t be charging people when the service you provided literally did not work. Yes, we slept on couches in a glamping tipi that they provided. No, the heating and zippers did not work. In fact, we had to change tipis twice (first one had faulty zippers, second one had a roof leak). The lodge was under construction so the lack of services was understandable (closed kitchen and ice cream parlor) - until a construction worker walks right in front of us at the bar and asks one of the staff members if he can get some ice cream, which he received. Now, I don’t know if the workers had a special ice cream agreement with the staff that I don’t know about - but we were told the ice cream shop was unavailable. Seems like the second part of that statement should have been “unavailable just to you”. Honestly, it just seemed like a place that couldn’t care less if we were there. There’s are only a few things worse than indifference in the service industry. 2 stars.

Really enjoyed our stay at Elk Lake Resort. Cabin #26 was a fantastic fit for me and my 7 friends. The two small maintenance issues we had were dealt with quickly. Pizza and ice cream were delicious. Renovations are being done by new owners and I can't wait to go back. Lake is clear and while we had paddle boards, rentals are available. It was fun renting and taking out the pontoon boat. Highly recommend staying at Elk Lake Resort.

One of the best places to visit in the Cascade Mountains is Elk Lake resort. Beautiful scenery, small lake with clear blue water and surrounded by mountains. Iconic small resort that has new owners and already the energy involved is infectious. Tried their new pizza kitchen, and the crust and choices of topping were great. I have stayed with my family here for 11 years in a row and hope to continue this tradition. Norah Brennan
