This is a vibrant market with a wide selection of fresh produce, including fish and vegetables. We visited early on Saturday at 8:30 AM, when it was mostly locals shopping, and the souvenir shops were still closed. By 10:00 AM, tourists arrive, and it gets crowded. The market includes an indoor section and, on Saturdays, an outdoor street market in the surrounding area. We ate at Bean 17, a local shop on the outer ring of the market, which offered good quality food at affordable prices.

Visiting Loulé Market on a Saturday is a vibrant experience that immerses you in local culture. The market is bustling with activity, offering a wide array of fresh produce, artisanal crafts, and regional delicacies. Parking can be challenging due to the market’s popularity, so it’s advisable to park further away and enjoy a leisurely walk to the market. Bringing cash is recommended, as many vendors may not accept card payments. The market operates from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with Saturdays being particularly lively as the daily market expands to include a farmer’s market that spills onto the surrounding streets. This expansion creates a bustling atmosphere, making it an ideal time to visit and experience the local offerings.

A large market, both indoors and outdoors. It's advisable to go earlier; the local fresh vegetables are cheap, while fish and meat are not cheap but fresh. There is a variety of wine, oils, cheeses, and teas. If you’re looking for clothes, you won't find them there. However, nearby in the old town, there are boutique shops with clothing, jewelry, and footwear that you won’t find in Faro or Albufeira. There are many cafés, historical churches, and beautiful streets. Definitely visit this town on a Saturday. Around 2 pm, the market starts closing, but live music begins, and cafés inside the market open up.

Took a side excursion to Loulé Saturday Market during our stay in Albufeira. Warning it is a 30 Euro taxi/Uber ride but I felt it was worth the trip to see the market and medieval small town. There is a castle to also visit for some historical sights. The public market was filled with vendors selling fresh produce, handmade crafts and gifts. There are several small streets full of places to eat and do gift shopping. Another warning is not to waste your time going to the Gypsy Market. They are just selling junk like fake handbags and toys from China. The authentic local items are in the town center.
