All drivers are required to complete the mandatory Utah OHV Education Course to operate a UTV legally. Drivers aged 18 and older must complete a free short course, while those aged 16–17 with a valid driver’s license must complete the Utah Youth Certification Course, which costs and takes approximately 3–4 hours. These certifications are valid for life and are required for operating any UTV in Utah.
