We decided to do this tour on our last night in Kefalonia in June. Booked through AirBnB. After conquering the maze of streets of Argostoli, we met with our tour guides Anastasios and his wife Tina for the Argostoli City Food & History Tour. We started out visiting a supermarket where we tried cheeses on a charcuterie board. We learned that you will enjoy soft cheeses even more if you drizzle honey on it! We cruised on foot through the city and tried meat pies, wine, nuts, cod pie, gelato, and confections. We learned all about historic city buildings and the stories behind them. Anastasios and Tina were energetic about their city and for the opportunity for us to try a variety of Greek (and other nationality’s) specialty food. The tour was paced just right, no one was rushed, and our group was a lot of fun. I especially liked chilling on the waterfront with my dinner. We recommend this tour for anyone ready to get to know the background and options in the area. Bring an empty belly!

We did the food tour with Tasos during the evening. He was such a gracious and helpful person. We had some mobility issues so he provided us with a plan and accommodated our requests. We highly recommend it doing this tour. He took us to various kinds of food places - from local groceries shop to shops hidden away in some corner. He showed us the city centre, told us stories about the food we ate and we talked about world food, religion, politics … it was such a wonderful evening. We ate super awesome food with cheese, pies, nuts, wine … and had some to take home. We absolutely loved the food tour and it is quite an experience. Don’t miss it!

This is an absolute must to start your holiday in Kefalonia - and don’t eat before the tour. We tasted delicious food and wine from about 7 different shops - all while wandering around Argostoli learning about its history, culture and geography. There was so much food we took some home for breakfast the next day. Tasos and Tina were great company and entertaining hosts. This is a small family run business. They are locals and know their town. They gave us lots of tips about where to eat and drink and which beaches to go to.

We did the food tour with Tesos and we highly recommend it. He showed around the city and shared with us his knowledge about the history of the city and the island. He knows how to tell a story and it was very interesting to hear. The food was amazing, we had a high variety of local yummy food that consisted of a few dishes and different places around the city. While we walked in the city we did a few stops for eating which was very funny. This food tour is a special to experience Argostoli, the local culture, food, and history of Kefalonia.

We went on this amazing food tour with Tasos as our guide and we loved it. The food we tasted was really good, the background information elaborative and we even found our favourite foodplace in Argostoli: Οψάριον fish bar. It was nice to get to know more about the traditional food Kefalonia has to offer and we also got to know way more about the island itself. I highly recommend this tour!
