Assos is one of the most picturesque places in Kefalonia – a small, peaceful village that looks like it's straight out of a fairy tale. Colorful houses reflecting in the blue water, narrow streets fringed with bougainvillea, and a peaceful atmosphere make it easy to fall in love with this place. The ruins of a Venetian castle tower over the village, offering a stunning view of the bay. It's the perfect place for a romantic stroll, dinner by the sea, and a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle. Assos is a beautiful village! Great for a walk and a visit but also for quite (family) vacation! The beach in assos is not something unique compared to the rest of the island’s beaches! Good for kids as it is rather shallow but not enough place to set a towel and an umbrella if it has a lot of people
Can't recommend assos enough. First of all, the road there was amazing! The view is out of this world, especially during sundown (the road is a bit hard to drive but worth it). The beach is small but so pretty, and the town center is a slice of heaven with amazing view and clear water. I would definitely come again just to sit by the water and enjoy the place.
